Well crap! #Just got to the point where I could check e-mail and then come to QRZ.com. #Missed another one!

Was out of town most of last week and just now getting the radio equipment back where it belongs. #Had to go play radio out in the country for a few days! #Had a blast on 17m with an inverted V made from old telephone wire strung up an oak tree.

Seems that I have missed the last few good openings on 6. #But, it is getting that time of year.

Perhaps next time...Nah, I'll probably miss that one too...:D

Very good condx this evening on 6! I had turned on the SB-110 for background noise earlier (figured I should do that once in a while); and the band went Magic for a while, and I worked a new state (WI) and a new grid.

I had quite a bit of stuff to attend to this evening, so I only made one contact, but heard several others.

I'll have to try this 'turn the receiver on in the background' thing more often; that, and call CQ every now and then.

I think I heard you work the guy across the river from me in EN43, K0MN. I was doing OK for a bit until I got up the band a bit and the XYL showed up and offered to become the Ex-XYL if I didn't stop messing up the TV show she was watching. I just resigned myself to posting spots on the cluster from that point.

9ECI, 9ECI, 9ECI, you are supposed to be working on getting your 2M SSB Cert. Not 6M.

2M SSB lookig good for WED From NY to FL. Tropo is not to bad for Tues in the South , SW and SE from SC to FL and some points West.

All of us six meter fanatics like to hang out HERE (http://chat.dxers.info/?b=6m). It's a chat page with over 2900 members. Anyone who works 6m will recognize many callsigns there. They alert with the slightest hint of an opening, set up skeds, whatever.

Tom,

On the air tonight for 6, but that means it will not open... But I will be listening all evening.

KWW 2m is great fun when it opens, but 6 is truly the MAGIC BAND! #Try it out, you will like it as well. #My best on 2m is about 1100 miles, best on 6m is AK! #Both of those were CW contacts but still a lot of fun to point at the card and brag about. #Lots of others have made further contacts than that on both 6 and 2m. #Monitor BOTH bands and see if you can get VUCC on each...

Dave, #the dxers.info page is a GREAT resource for 6 and 10m info and spots. #May catch you in the chat one afternoon.

6 sounds like it might pop again tonight. I can just about make out the voices in the static on .125. I'm not going to be around the rig much tonight. Finished my day at working structure fire, and I'm whipped.

Thanks for the info on 6. I plan to add a 6 meter beam to the tower this summer.

You're right. I recognized several calls on that list. I signed up for it as well.

-ep, can you translate that to English so we can all understand what sort of valid commentary relevant to the thread you were trying to communicate, or were you just trying to run your post counter up again?

It's nice having a dedicated 6M rig. I just leave it on scan and it checks a few beacon freqs, .125 and .110.

ahoy

don't waste your time posting
keep ur 6 mtr rig turned on

don't run much 6 now
got to get ant back up

real six meter ops keep the rig
on all the time
ready for any e skip that comes along

band just sits empty too much
even when open
nothing like hearing a beacon in new brunswick
coming in 10 over
then calling cq on ssb and cw
without anybody to pick up on the open band

i will put back up the 6 mtr ant
at home and at the shop this summer
