Very interesting. I wonder why the Australian News is the only one reporting this story? CNN,MSNBC and the BBC have nothing posted on this story.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, interesting, very interesting.

Yeah, usually CNN and MSNBC will jump on anything that would put a bad light on the US's actions over there.

We've got a very interesting scenario playing out right now.

The Lebanese have stood up and told the Syrians to get out of their country, but Hezbollah, sponsored by Iran, has taken sides with Syria and basically threatened the rest of the country with mayhem. Iran has signed a mutual defense pact with Syria.

So, we can try to resolve this diplomatically, in which case the Ayatollahs are probably going to rub our noses in it. They've been doing that since Jimmy Carter was president, and they are really, really good at making us look really, really foolish.

Or, we can come to the assistance of the Lebanese who want freedom from the Syrians. This will cause Hezbollah to destroy the country, and probably get us into a shooting war with Syria and Iran. If Iran already has a nuke or two, they might lob 'em into Tel Aviv just for fun. One thing's for sure - if they ever get nukes, this will be how they blackmail us forever.

Or, we can start by nuking the freakin' Iranians. Some of us have wanted to do this since Carter was president. This deserves more study, but only if we can nuke the freakin' North Koreans at the same time.

Or, we can just shut up and hope that Iraq goes well, and the resulting democracy undermines both Iran and Syria from within. We can pray for a miracle.

Fortunatley, our president is not a man known for his patience or his diplomacy.

KØRGR,
You are right it is fortunate for us that Bush is not known for his pussy footing, and the rest of the world knows that. They will think hard and strong before committing to invade or starting a war with the US.Israel is right there to help the lebanese, and we have troops and can land more in Iraq right in
between Syria and Iran cutting them into two fronts.I'm not sure where Turkey stands but I'm pretty sure they would not turn against us,maybe just hold the line that would pin Syria down and being cut off from Iran they would be on their own.with Israel on one side and our Iraq troops on the other.
It is precarious but I think we could be in a good position if all Hell breaks loose.

Oh and don't forget, this is a good tact to get more people to invest in oil futures now. I hear the chatter on the news of 80 or more dollars a barrel by peak season this summer.

Iran is looking at Iraq and thinking "Wow that could easily be us.." considering they fought Iraq for about 10years and never got anywhere and this is the second time we owned Iraq. They know we have a quarter million troops on thier doorstep and we're not happy with them. Charles you are right, they're just blowing smoke.

Considering that Iran is one of the largest terror supporters on the planet I say let them have nuclear weapons, heck give them nuclear weapons, put them on the recieving end of some of ours..For what they have done and supported in the past, they diserve it.....

KG4FOY,
Where I can not dispute they have earned the business end of Nuclear Power I think it would be cutting our nose off just to spite the face.

Don't misunderstand I have not forgotten nor Forgiven what they did to our Embassy and it's personell.

If you were to go back to the Archives you would find I predicted the youth of Iran would overthrow the clerics and build a form of Arab Democracy, much in the order of Iraq and What is taking place in Egypt and will be in the new state of Palistine.

I still think that scenario will play out. With the new Palistinian State and the new Democratic Iraq I think the youth will see the handwriting on the wall and overthrow the cleric's. Afterall they want a piece of the pie also, and if it is the clerics that are in the way then out they go.

4CGC give up your devil worship and get saved before it's too late.

Now, you all are right, Iran has rubbed our nose in the crap since Carter showed the yellow strip on his back. Now we have to kick a$$ and take names.

Orv,
It may happen, but I think you are underestimating the religous "nut jobs" in charge over there. (We're talking a country that Hizbollah points at and refers to as nuts) These people would turn on thier own countrymen to remain in power (its the muslim way) All they have to do is label the activist of the younger generation "infindels" and turn loose thier army of brainwashed jihadist goons that will kill them dead. As the older clerics die off there will be younger ones to take thier place who will be just a controlling and power hungry as the ones before and will also hold on to power at all cost. (not to mention much more violent than the previous generation) Iran is a lose-lose situation for us, either we lose out on the economic side (oil $70+ bbl) or we lose out that they keep supporting terrorism and develop nuclear weapons to supply the terrorist with. (which they will blame the Russain black market) Yes many of the youth of Iran want change but, unless they take up arms against thier current govt. it will never happen. So the best soultion to this problem is to just rid ourselves of it once and for all. Think of it as payback for all the problems they have caused the rest of the world. Its time we stop bowing to terrorist supporters just because they have oil. But also remember they started this fight years ago and were dancing in the streets on 9-11, I say its time that we finish it for them.

On another point, looks like Bush's mid east policies are working and France MIGHT be beginning to grow a pair. (but we'll see about that) Syria is beginning to leave Lebanon finally.....Well see what happens there next.

KWW,
"4CGC give up your devil worship and get saved before it's too late. "
Thats how religous wars start, he can worship a dog turd if he wants, its his right, and he also has the right to do it without interfearence. Pushing religion on people like that comes from an insecurity that what you believe in may be wrong, and that the more who buy it the more correct it will become in your mind. Besides pushing ones religion on another is the most disrespectful thing that someone can do. You are telling him that everything he believes is wrong and everything you believe is right. If your soo right, prove your God and prove that he's going to go to hell. Bible verses aren't proof either.....

Do you have any facts to back up your attack on me or are you flying on ingnorance and blind faith? Well Greg do you?

And don't go accusing me of attacking Christianity. Believe me I have more respect for you than your people have shown towards me. Not all of them mind you, most of them are good people but enough to tell anyone that zealots abound on both sides of the so called "fence".
