I just heard on a morning AM Talk show that if a child having aspirations of wanting to go to Yale U and their parents make 45k or less a year...

Tuition is totally free!

I am thinking that the same strict grade and SAT/ACT requirements are still required though.

Sounds promising, but who's footing the bill other than what the parents can afford?

Yale is a private school. If there is a bill to "foot" then it is on them.

More power to them if they want to do that. I think in some aspects, this is a good thing! Especially so for any hardworking HS seniors who want to get into a good school and take on the challenge of a good education that this private institution brings.

I hope this isn't perceived as getting a handout.

I'm sure the Board of Directors of Yale University feel that children of parents who earn less than 45 kilobucks a year would be a lot more open to the liberal, socialist indoctrination provided by their pot-smoking, Commie-Lib, Socialist, Environmentalist, Feminist, Blame America First faculty. Students from more prosperous families are probably not as likely to buy into the liberal agenda.
