A Story that even a Libertarian might smile at.

Living in Tornado Alley, you hear all about all kinds of stories about what tornados do. Well, here's one I thought was kinda interesting.

Maybe they were blown into his house from the house next door.

I caught a guy once that was moving to a new apartment. He loaded his four foot tall potted "pot" plant in the back of his pick up and was driving it over to his new place. He thought since it was in the back of his truck we couldn't search it. Never mind it was just sitting there in plain view.

We had a special term we used for people like him.

DWHUA

Stands for
driving while head up a**

I think DWHUA describes most cell phone users. What a great acronym!http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

One the most popular words of the 60's was "ear" as the hippies passed a "joint" around.

I am surpized that this guy is only "a person of interest". In my state, they would of arrested him for "Possession with Intent to Distribute."

Re-read it. We used that all the time when I worked in Texas. Come on down we just want to talk. If they knew where he was I have a feeling they would be doing more than just talking to him.

Best one we did was to a guy we just couldn't get hold of. We had a warrant for him and he knew it. He kept giving us the slip. Finally we left a message at his house that someone had left a check for him at the Sheriffs Office. His wife called and wanted to know if she could pick it up. We said no he had to do it in person. 30 minutes later he got a private room after coming to collect his money.

Boy was he mad at us.

I am very glad you caught him, but your method was questionable. If the guy could afford a GOOD attorney, I would almost bet he could beat it in court.

Yes it was terrible, we lied to a criminal. The shame of it. But you are probably right about the lawyer, after all OJ got off.

Not likely. That kind of sting is used all the time. The cops send "You won a Big Screen TV!" notice to the criminal at his last known address. When he shows up to get it, he gets teh big screen, alright. It is a well-established method of locating wanted criminals and warrant-skippers. It has been tested in the courts.

Well, if it's was me (and it won't EVER be me), that's what I would of done. With my luck the Judge would throw the book at me and lock me up... forever.

Do you all think this "person of interest" will ever see jail time or will he just get a "slap on the wrist"?

Dorothy: Alice, it looks like we're not in Kansas anymore.
Alice: Yeah, looks like California.
