I have an IC-3200A dual-band mobile radio that is acting up. The display is not consistant about keeping the characters on. If you change frequency, the display goes haywire. The radio will not allow me to store any frequencies into memory and every time I turn the radio on, I have to reset the frequency increments. It appears that every time the radio is shutdown it loses all settings.
I suspect the battery may be going dead as the radio sit for a few years without power being applied. Does anyone know the correct part number, source for a battery and procedures for replacing this backup battery? I'd rather not have to send it back to ICOM if I can get away with doing the job myself. Please email me at wa4eho@hotmail.com also as I don't get to read the responses here very often.
