I have a 15 yr old Kenwood TH77e dual band (2/70) handheld. Over the years it has played up on the 2 mtr side of thing's. Several times the PA slab has had to be replaced. It dosen't get a lot of use and recently I noticed that the 2 mtr receive had failed (transmit's OK). At 15 years old, I don't know if I should get it repaired or junk it, although it works perfecly OK on 70 cms, I suppose I could keep it for that band only. Has anyone had this happen to this model? Is it an easy repair? Or is it not worth bothering with. Repair shops in the UK charge about £40/hr ($77US) + parts, so it's getting close to the cost of a new 2 mtr handy. Any idea's? #Vic G0FEI.
