I recently purchased a used Kenwood TS-140S that does not transmit. When the radio is keyed the "On Air" light comes on and I can hear a relay click inside the radio but the meter shows "0" output power even when the power is turned up to maximum. The radio receives fine. I was just wondering if anyone has had this problem with this model and if anyone has any idea what the problem could be?
Thanks,

Does it do that in all Modes? Check the power output control. Those rigs had a problem with the slide pots.Might be a bad relay inside.Could even be the finals but I doubt it.

Yes, it does this in all modes and on all bands. I will check the power slide pot and see if it is working properly.
Thanks for the reply

Some of the TS-140 rigs had a factory problem with the driver transistor not being mounted properly.Usually the problem showed up as intermittant but perhaps it has progressed beyond that. Click here for a fix. # #

That happened to mine once and after awhile I discovered that the send/receive button for cw was pushed to send. Hopefully it is something that simple.
