Hey! Just purchased a new FT-857D right at Christmas time. I have been unable to get ANY of the software mods to get it to wideband, and when I got frustrated and tried to open it up to do the hardware mod, there are NO jumpers at all in the designated area posted for jumper changes. Anyone have any insight into Yaesu's "new" design, or how to get it to open up? Thanks in advance!

The program i used was called soft jump a software mod.
SoftJump by Peter May, VK2IT, vk2it@tpg.com.au

This program uses undocumented CAT commands to read or update the EEPROM in the Yaesu FT817, FT857, and FT897 Radios. If you cannot find it on the web i can email it to you, it is only 204kb.

Tim, try the yahoo user groups for the 897 or 857. I use M0BMN's Widebander V4.0, works for me with my 897 but i know it works in the windows environment rather than dos.
Best of luck.
