Most folks who ARE interested in radio ( cb-scanner-swl, etc ) will find some one else who knows something about it and go from there. The video is possibly fine & great & dandy, BUT why drag some one into it that has no real interest IN it --- like making me play golf when I would rather be on the radio ---etc etc etc . http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

I actually saw a Ham Radio public service announcement on national TV recently. Took me a few seconds to realize they were talking about Ham Radio. The announcer was talking fast. Still, an effort by the ARRL to get our message out.

I have seen the message above, and I read where the ARRL is paying a bounty for clubs that re-sign (save) ARRL members. I'd like to see them expand this to any "saves" of Amateurs who go off the air and the club can bring them back. Puts the emphasis not only on saving ARRL dues but on retaining people in the hobby.

Just getting the word out is important.. its not all about trying to get new people in the hobby.. but rather, to let people know about the hobby.. or atleast thats the way I see it..

#Thats a vibroplex vibro-keyer (they're single lever paddle) so he's most likely used to use a bug!!

I love it! I'm not sure how we go about making sure that our local radio stations have the PSA's but it sounds like a good project for all of our radio clubs.

I'm sure W0EAS might have some insight into that.

Oops, looks like you're probably right - I've got to get a better monitor!

RGR...the article on the ARRL site has contact information for getting a copy suitable for broadcast for your local stations.
