No such thing as the 75 meter band as defined by the US Amateur Radio Frequency Allocations. http://www.arrl.org/FandES/field/regulations/allocate.html

But 'We all know' isn't good enough for a test.
Another question on that Test asks what is the frequency spectrum iun the 75 meter band for Extra class hams:
Answer: 3750-3775
The band I have shows it has the 75/80 band.. rather than just the 80 meter band..

When in doubt, always go to the source...Part 97.
97.301b defines:
80m as 3.5 - 3.75
75m as 3.75 - 4.0
For an extra class operator in Region II

I thought extra class could operate from 3.5_4.0 (3.999999) ?

You can Orv, they are referring to the specially allocated portion set aside for Extra Class operations only.
Steve, if the band plan you have on your wall is NOT put out by the ARRL you should take it down and compare it to this one:
http://www.arrl.org/FandES/field/regulations/Hambands_color.pdf
Some radio manufacturers put out their own version which is NOT always correct. #My ICOM band plan looks GOOD but it is NOT correct.

The only difference I see from this bandplan put out by Icom and developed by Gordon West/WB6NOA and the Radio School, INC. is on the 12 meter band.. the ARRL bandplan starts at 24.890 the Icom bandplan has white at the bottom.. tho GEN, ADV, and EXTRA get the entire band.
Tho I know the majority of the bandplans.. atleast the parts that "I" need to know..

So it is correct, if one abides by part 97 which would be the correct and proper way of doing things. The error in my way of thinking was having looked the info up on the ARRL's site, and not seeing a section in the frequency allocations for 75 meters, accepted that answers A, and C were incorrect, and answer D due to the inclusion of 160 meters, leaving only answer B.
Live and learn. Thanks all.

ECI,
When all else fails resort to the CFRs....Part 97 is the Bible we need to go to, and we should all know it, but lets be realistic, we don't KNOW it, but we DO know where to look! #For those that want to flame, I work with GOV documents daily, you CANNOT know them all, and the inspectors only care if you KNOW where it is located, and you have an understanding of the subject matter!
Still looking for a 6m contact!!!! #Lets shoot for a PSK contact on 20, 40, or 80....Shoot me a sked schedule....

Yep. I figured that as long as it was there, $37.50 for another whole band to work was a fair value.

Not a bad deal at all....Just hate to part with a rig for a few months....GUess we can look at you as a gunnia(sp) pig...Let me know how it works....All else fails, we have the 735 and the 746 to use while the 706 is out. I prefer the 706....MUCH better ears!

A few of the guys on the 703 Yahoo group have 706's as well and have commented that the 703 has far better ears. On the whole, I really like my 703, but I'd like to have a 706 for working the satellites and 6 meters.
I wish I had a 706 next to my 718.. and a 703 for portable operations..
ECI, are you getting 60 meters added?

Yes, I'm having the 60 meter mod done. It's on the bench being repaired due to a finals failure that is common with this rig so I figured as long as it's there, I might as well have the 60 meter mod done.
There are two ways to mod this rig for 60, one involves adding a diode that opens up the 60 meter band for transmit, and the other is to remove a diode that opens up everything for tx....I opted for the correct mod.
