Lets not play like Republicans have any sort of a monopoly on spending.. Dummycrats have been doing it for years just the same as Republicans..

I knew that it was too good to last. That is the lack of petty personal attacks, digs, etc., that made my life as a moderator a bit easier since the election and the "normal" fall out were finally over.

Let me make it perfectly clear: Cut the personal attacks, the personal comments, the little "digs" at each other, etc. I am not directing this at just one or two individuals but several.

To use the vernacular, COOL IT RIGHT NOW else heads will roll.

This tendency towards personal attacks has come in several threads and I will take action in those threads as well if people don't clean up their acts.

Like I said in another thread all children are to go sit in a corner and contemplate your actions. Then you can pick up your pail and shovel and come back into the sandbox to play. If you can't play without tearing down someone else's castle then you just may get a permanent "time out".

I don't want to hear from anyone "defending" their position, saying that they were "provoked", and so on. Just clean up your act and everthing will be fine.

Riddle: What do you call "the lowest rated guy in history" who just won the election?

A: THE PRESIDENT.

You boys really have to find something else to think about. Aren't there any Section 8 housing developments you want to put in nice neighborhoods? Any rightly-convicted murderers and rapists you want to free from prison? Any wasteful and inefficient "national health care plans" you want to dream up?

You're just spinning your wheels in the mud bellyaching about our President.

Sorry to have to be the one to tell you this....

Goodbye.

This is an idiotic thread.

Three presidents have had second terms during the past fifty years: Nixon, who was reelected only to be harried into a resignation not long after. Whom did he run against: McGovern, almost as big a loser as Kerry.

Next, of course, was Ronald Reagan, who was reelected after an insipid campaign by an insipid campaigner: Walter Mondale, another loser. BTW, did I mention that Nixon was first elected running against Mondale's mentor: the ever-loving loser of the age, Hubert Horatio Humphrey, least effective VP since Wallace.

Then we arrive at the penultimate second-term reelection, that of slick Willy who won in a walk against the Viagra pitch man, Bob Dole (doleful Bob?).

Given that any of the above winners of reelection had their job performances at the beginning of their terms measured against the slugs who opposed them, and none of them was faced with the international challenges the collapse of the Soviet empire has presented to Bush, is it any wonder that they had ten points on the most effective President since Ike?

Posters should make an effort to learn something factual before venting mindless spleen just to incite an argument.

Nuff said.

Polls and surveys and all that other crap are meaningless, a segment of the population is polled or surveyed and they then conclude that it represents everyone. What a bunch of rubbish.
President Bush is OUR president, whether you like him or don't, whether you question how he originally got there or not, he IS the president now. Fighting about it after the fact does nothing towards anything positive, but then again I guess I'm just a dreamer thinking that people won't fight about it. Have fun now.

The best way to get rid of the terrorists is to kill them all.

And please don't pull out the old, antiquated, anti-Israel screed that they and we are "responsible" for creating the terrorists. That's like saying that buglars exist because valuables exist, and it doesn't hold water.

Nope, I didn't say that.

Terrorists are those that attack us or other innocent victims, like Jewish kids in pizza parlors. Therefore it is simple self-defense to kill them.

There's also eco-terrorists who are not Muslim. Kill them too.

True story: Last week one of my co-workers started discussing politics (something we try to avoid) and he was ranting about how GWB was wrong on Iraq, lousy on the economy, balloned the deficit, and on and on. Really ragging on him. I asked my co-worker, "so who'd you vote for?" Answer: "Well, I voted for Bush...I guess I'm an idiot huh?"

I'm not sure what to make of it other than I suspect enough of a percentage that felt that way and voted GWB over Kerry anyway. Whichever way the election might have gone, neither truly has (or would have had) a mandate.

I there's some buyer's remorse going on right now. There would have been had it gone the other way as well.

What we need are better candidates. Both sides have their true believers, but a significant percentage hold their nose and vote.

In My Opinion.
Yeah....but you were doing you're patriotic duty, as taught to you by those who know such things.
I think both sides would prefer the "moderates" or "swing voters" stayed home. That way they'd only have to pander to their base and not even pretend they cared about some issues they have to pay lip service to in order to lure the moderates most of us really are. Uh, wait.....

I felt so-so about my choice, more pro than con I guess, I wish I'd had a better one though.

But you have to participate. They want you to stay home. Don't give them the satisfaction! Make 'em sweat for it!

You think he might take me.. I disagree.. Did I mention I have actually met and shook hands with Bush Sr.? I think I have a little idea where they are coming from.. And even if I am wrong and get "taken" at least they aren't "taken" my money to pay for welfare families and other miserable failures the Dummycrats keep coming up with to pay for people too lazy to earn their own way.

Totally false cap. If we all stayed home they would know that we considered all of them to be un legit.
I'm 100% proud of my behavior on election day...I abstained. I sent the message: I'm wise to you scum and I don't support you in any way.

You can't see for the snow. I still think daddy Bush was the worst we ever had....even worse than LBJ. Junior is well on his way to eclipse though.

Neo-conservative or for the language impaired neo-con that is one who believed in the liberal political philosophy then came to the realization of the error of his ways and converted to the Conservative philosophy.
I think I would prefer to be called a neo-conservative (neo-con) then to be labeled a Socialist Liberal.Even the limited education Democrats don't like the term LIBERAL,even when they are one. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

Am I liberal Orv? Am I PC Orv? Neo con is the term given to those who are NOT conservative but consider themselves to be conservative like W. Pat Buchanan has some wise input on the subject but you probably think he is ?? (not conservative)

Daddy Bush had no reason to exist other than to please his friends and creditors. He would say whatever he thought the mindless wonders (us) wanted to hear at the time then completely ignore it later. Hey...after all....I'm the prez.
The only thing that made him worth his salt was the day he puked on the Japanese prime minister.

Ok, that WAS funny.. I grant you that..

But you can't expect ANYONE to think that ANY politician, regardless of political affiliation, has never said something because he thought thats what people wanted to hear.. Not in MY lifetime anyway..

I am closing this topic since it has degraded into nothing but name-calling, personal attacks, etc., and definitely NOT because of the original post.

I thought that all of the election quibbling was over, but I guess not!

How about a 30 day moritorium on discussions of both Bush and Kerry (and their Vice Presidential candidates, etc.)? Frankly, I, and the vast majority of those who participate on QRZ.com, am getting pretty tired of both sides.
