But you should include yourself, Dennis. #Didn't you start another topic about #12 more soldiers dying in Iraq? #I think you started another topic that will evolve to the "mudslinging, vitrolic, threads that we are subjected to on a daily basis." #You should be the keeper of the passwords to this new forum!

Before this goes any further:
Frankly, there has more vitriol etc ad nauseum hereabouts this first week of 2005 than there was before the election, which is saying something. To say nothing of thin skins, overt trolling and all the stuff that makes finer amateurs of us all.
Rather than single each other out and lower the level further, let's all take a deep breath, a dram of the finest whisky, and resolve to engage brain before hitting "return."
We moderators have been overworked this week. It has not been fun. And the weather is making us all cranky.
Consider this a word to the wise. One and all: Kindly Lighten Up.

Yes Bob that was another post , I started that one in the hope that people would see, the utter futility, in that particular theatre of war.
It was not meant to be vitriolic or a case of mudslinging ,
I just feel sorry for those Soldiers that died for no particular reason.
The new forum would be for the hand bagging and "I'll punch you if I see you brigade" so prevalent in the #posts lately on QRZ.
Thats an idea we could call it the Punch room.
When the Moderators have had enough of the personal attacks , they can say "off to the Punch Room you lot.

I understand your intent of the other post. #However, I think if we have the Punch room, it will still spill into this forum and we will be back to ducking the mud.

Yes...and I fell like I have purposely been left out ( waaaah !! )
Me thinks we should ALL read our own posts at least once before hitting the SEND button before we got judging some one elses words.
I know I can better my self a lot.
I DO appreciate the honor of getting to post here, since it IS some one elses money being spent here.

Don't take this the wrong way but if I were you I would not expect political and other lightening rod posts to decrease in the coming year.
Qrz has made their bed by letting all sorts of trolls, personal attacks, etc to get to an unmanageable level. Qrz needs to sleep in their bed or bite the bullet and do some REAL moderating and banning.
I believe I read in Fred's posts recruiting moderators that the job came with long hours and without a salary. If I were you, I believe I would renogotiate. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Hmmmm.. kind of like US soldiers dying in the European theater in WWII. They weren't in our country. We should have just stayed home huh?
Remember, Saddam Hussein, invaded his neighbors. And would have continued on to others if he was not stopped. He was a threat to that whole portion of the world. And being such a madman, if he had gotten ahold of the right weapons Great Britain could have been targeted and in range.

Yeah. Liberating an oppressed people is never a good reason, is it? Oh wait! It is a good reason and your remarks are of the most offensive to this US soldier and alot of others. #Sometimes we have to do things that are unpopular for the overall good of the world and we would come help out Europe again, too.

I haven't noticed this huge increase but I'll take your word for it. There must be lots of personal emails flying about offline, I guess.
I don't know if additional forums would really help. My biggest fear is that the "hostility" will cause Fred to just shut down the forums, and that would be ashame.

President Bush speaking - To the Congress and the American people - We are invading Iraq to liberate their people so I ask for Congress's vote and the American peoples support in this invasion.
Think we would be there right now?
By the way this has nothing to do with the American Soldier who goes and does what he is told - they are just doing their job. I have a friend over there and he did not want to go, thinks it is a mistake but is doing his duty.
