In the post office there is a bulletin board. This, by the way, is the same post office that had posters on its doors and windows for a year, reading "We accept passports." I let that one go, for I wanted to see how long it would take them to realize they were suggesting they would accept passports in return for stamps. Took a year. Now, finally, those notices say, "We accept passport applications." I guess the manager finished his English course.
This one, though, is not the fault of the post office. The bulletin board permits private notices, such as rentals, cars for sale, lost mutts, and other things of generally little interest. Today I noticed one, and I'll quote part of it:
FOR SALE, Beautiful Wedding Gown, never used.
Asking $1500.
Will take $1000.
Cost $2500.
End quote.
So is Idiot A going to offer her $1500? Or maybe Idiot B will offer her $1200. Heck, maybe Idiot C will offer her $24,000. (She should put it on e-cost, and get at least $8K for it.) And someone will come along and offer her $500 and win the bid!
