OK. I'm humbled. I scraped together a C-note.

I donated but I but I won't say how much since those things tend to be relative to disposable income and why embarrass anyone.

Besides that, this thread is obviously just a political slam in a very poor disquise.

I used to take Bromo Seltzer for relief, but I don't think it is available any longer. Perhaps some cake would help?

I saw that Sandra Bullock Donated 1 Million...yes Million
But Dubya found fit with all his Millions to only Donate ten thousand Hmm, must not have been able to write it off in his Unlimited Expense Account. Or because he needs at least 100 Billion more for His STUPID war, he doesn't want to indulge.

You guys can go here to Donate.

Signed,

PS, Tell em the "Duck" sent ya!

Seeing as you decided to make this political and I'm not sure why.

If I recall correctly, George W Bush, in 2003, donated about $68,000 to church and charitable organizations on gross income of about $825,000 which would be about 8% of his income.

My wife and I regularly give to several organizations throughout the year; Salvation Army, Cancer Research, Church, Red Cross. We regularly give about 5% of our income.

So here are my questions:

Does Sandra Bullock regularly give to charity?

Did she do this for publicity?

Gordon, how does it personally affect you how much George Bush, Sandra Bullock or anyone else decides to donate to this disaster or any other charity?

Isn't that special! #

Good for you but your message would have been a lot more meaningful if you had left the $$ amount out.

Most Americans are giving what they can afford. #

Frankly I always become suspicious of people who feel the need to:
(a) tell me what good Christians they are #
(b) tell me how honest they are or
© feel obligated to tell me just how charitable they are.
(d) try to lay a guilt trip on other people

And couldn't you, just for once, left out the mean political statement?

donate TIME, donate technical expertise, but NEVER donate MONEY to the American Red Cross.

If you really need to donate money, send it to the Salvation Army. I have been with the Salvation Army in action, I have been with the Red Cross in action, and between the two, while both have a mission, the Army is there to help the PEOPLE and the ARC is there to help the "community".

The ARC spreads cash like rice at a wedding with never a care where it lands. The excuse is "it is going back into the community", usually at inflated prices, not the effected community.

The Salies are a lot more responicble with other peoples money. They tend to do more with less.

I agree with you about the Salvation Army. I think they have one of the lowest administrative expenses of any of the charities. We donate some to the Red Cross, but mostly donate to the blood bank.

I don't think you meant to quote my message for that one... I don't have a wife... yet.

I see that formula one driver Michael Shumacher gave ten million dollars for the Asian relief efforts.
