Ya'll seen this? Heard that this transmission was also around last year or sometime in the recent past. Help figure out what it is or where in N. America it's coming from.

Very curious intrusion into 75 meters on the 3.7 freq.

Continuous, 24 hr repeating loop about every 45 seconds. Is apparently in double sideband. Easily received from either sideband. Simultaneous on all 4 freq's of 3.7, 4.3, 6.5 and 10.5mhz.
********************************************** Correction: starts on 3.7 then repeats up to the higher freq's in 10 second intervals.

**********************************************
Short data burst then says "Varmit, I'm a gonna blow you to smithereens"

Started around 12/21 is going right now on 12/23

Heard fair to good, morning and daytime on 10.5 in NE Georgia. Fair to poor at 8am est on 6.5. Will check the lower freqs tonight.

Getting a lot of talk on other lists like SWL groups

TNX HDW for the tip on the other page!

One reporter is suggesting the desert SW for an origination site as it is being received on 3.7 daytime in Arizona

It might be worthwhile to monitor simultaneously on two frequencies to see if the different delay could help give some idea of range to the sender.

Sam disappeared around mid-morning (MST) today. No more Sam. Guess he was the one who got blown to Smithereenies.

Or -- he completed his mission. Out of curiosity, (Yeah, I was bored, and it was like 14 degrees outside, and wind chill was 2 below zero, and still had two inches of snow on the ground. So I cuddled up to a warm radio) I spent about three hours today searching all the freqs from 14.500 down to 3.500, spending a minute or two on each of the more likely ones. Nope! Him Gone!

Ed

And now it's 8 above. Last night's low was five below. The wunnerful wunnderful desert Southwest.

A white mouse replied to his caged companion, "Egad, Pinky! Such a simple, yet diabolical plan to take over the world of HF radio...repeat a simple message from our dear friend at ACME Looniversity, and the world stands transfixed. Pinky? Hello? PINKY!"

The taller mouse's blue eyes glazed over as he mumbled, "BRZZZAP 'Varmint, I'm ah gonna bloooow ya ta smithereens...."

Brain sighed, "Very well then. I will have to simply go back to broadcasting those five digit number groups in English, Spanish and Serbo-Croatian to again attempt to take over the world!"

Thank you again, everyone -- for all the reception reports. Wonder if we will ever find out who sent the loop tape?

Maybe next Christmas?? Someone somewhere suggested he had been here before, and made a vague connection to Christmas.

Darn! I miss him! Nothing like a good mystery to get us all fired up!

has anyone recorded the databurst and attempted to decode it?

that may have information that would indicate the source!

It was probably just a CB toy.
