I just got my Rigblaster M8 going.. and with the help of some friends I have my software going.. Now I just watn to to QSO on PSK.. If there is anyone around that wishes to have a QSO on 20 meter PSK.. I am on 14.070.. Sitting here now watching other QSO's in progress (it amazes me how many can be on one frequency without messing the others up..

If you want to work me.. I am calling CQ.. Let me know if I have a bad signal..

Thanks!

I am using W1SQLPSK 5.0.0.1.. What program are you using? If figure I might have somthing set up wrong.. I have Digipan and WinPSK installed on this machine (but I don't know how to configure them)

Then again I guess it might just be me not getting your signal..

I installed Ham Radio Deluxe and I get an error about it failing to red the frequency. Yet the program is making the Digital Light on my RIGblaster come on..

You don't have the CI-V hooked up. I will QSO with you on PSK if you want maybe tomorrow, since I have school off. I will see if I can build my interface again.

I should be availible to play for a short while tomorrow between 3:30 and 5 central time.

@ KBH, CI-V? The W1SQL program recieves fine.. and I guess that is sends.. for some reason I was not seeing ECI.. and he was not seeing me..

@ ECI, that will be great.. I have the next week off of school.. so I will be around.. yet even when I have school I am usually on the radio by 2230 or 2300z..

I'll keep an ear out also. I am having problems with my rig maintaining frequency on PSK. Plus, you are probably too close in to work on 20m, especially since I am currently on my homebrew vertical until I can get my dipole back up in the air. I'll let you know if I see you and how your signal looks.

For those in Texas... how 'bout that snow? Yesterday it was in the 70s, today we have snow on the ground and the roads are ice rinks.

kj5t

No snow here WZB.. no Ice either.. I am just sitting here on 40 meter PSK on 7072.6 seeing if I can catch anything this late at night..

BTW: I know why I did not see ECI.. I was not on 14070.. I was monitoring up some..

That helps narrow things down a bit. Try try again.

Try 14.070.15. That is the exact freq. I can talk to you anytime today, except maybe for a few hours this morning.

I am on 14.070.15 and watching. I don't see anything right now.. but I will catch anyone calling CQ..

So, do you like PSK? How about I meet you at 2200z 1 hour befor NAYN on PSK. Will you be able to check into NAYN?

I am really impressed with PSK. Glad you guys gave me a look at it.

You know since about 1969, I would get on 20 CW and used to call USSR USSR USSR DE WB2RJR K, after '89 went to CQ DX, and still always get a pileup and then work a new station every 1 or 2 minutes for as long as the band is open. Meet a lot of nice people doing this plus had some really good DX call me in these pileups.

Guess I need to move into the 21st Century, so I can use the internet and a couple of pages on this site to make a QSO.

So? This is progress?

RJR- I am new to PSK... and I am really having a blast with it.. I hope to hear you on..

I love the rag chewing. I rag chewed for at least an hour with KC5GNB on PSK, and my computer sor of crashed twice. I think that old AMD K6 is getting too hot.

More evolution than progress I think.

I certainly agree with ECI.. PSK31 is just like KC0KBH said it would be.. "Fun"... I worked my first DX station this evening, and I have a card going to his manager with an SASE.. and I hope to get a reply..

I seen the XE1 station working you. I was a bit above you running some QRP. I'm wondering, is there any PSK activity on 80M?

kj5t
12-26-2004, 12:49 AM
...and what about 40 meters too?

KC9ECI
12-26-2004, 12:55 AM
I see quite a bit of PSK on 40, but at the moment I'm having an issue with 40 and some RF feedback.

KC0KBH
12-26-2004, 01:06 AM
I have worked a few people on 80. I the only band I havn't worked anyone ofn PSK is 160 and 12. I have worked DX on 10 in the middle of the day, when the band wasn't open.

what are the frequencys on 15, 10 and 40 meters?

KC0KBH
12-27-2004, 02:05 AM
Let me check my rig. I know that 10 is 28.180 (or 280 maybe).15, 40 is 7.070.15? And, I have no clue what 15 is right now, it has been so long since I worked someone on there.

Thanks ECI.. I will have to try 10,15, and 40 meters then.. It's funny.. they say that its 14.070 but KBH said the actual frequency was 14.070.15.. I got on 14.070.15 and got more signals then on 14.070.. Then again I have seen DX stations post on the reflector 14.072.. I guess its in that general area.. I am not sure how all of that works..

Worked Appleton, WI.. Fresno, CA, Collegeville, PA, and Mt Pleasant, IL today... I am on my way for PSK WAS on 20 meters ;)

Nice to hear your PSK activities are going well. I'm off that mode until I can find out more info since my radio is drifting just enough to cause greif to the AFC on PSK31. On the other hand, I tried RTTY using the MMTTY program this evening and had a 10-15 minute qso with WA4NMS. Other than a TX/RX offset issue I'm ironing out, it seems so far that the mode is wide enough that the amount of drift (about +/- 20 to 10hz from the correct frequency) doesn't cause problems. I'll tinker and see if I can use this mode at least, as I am addicted to digital modes. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I have seen some RTTY on the DX spotter.. but I have not installed the program.. I am fixing to install MMTTY.. maybe you can I can work that away WZB (not sure tho if you are too close to me or not)

I've heard you work a Russian station once. I heard him talk to you, but I didn't hear you. That was on 20m. On 40m, I've heard you on the HHH net, but my 40m antenna is down right now. Maybe I'll see you on the display some time. This is assuming I'll be able to use the mode. We'll see. Meanwhile, keep having fun.

I installed MMTTY, and will be setting it up tomorrow.. since I am not sure how to set it up.. Maybe I will see you RTTY.. I also want to set up a Contest Voice Keyer with my Rigblaster (if there are any free programs that work well) and maybe CW over the computer (cheating like a lid.. but I can't find any good CW programs..)

I think that they shouldn't charge for PSK software. Who can afford $50 for MixW?

Check out PSK31 Deluxe. Far better than MixW, and FREE. http://hrd.ham-radio.ch/psk31deluxe.html

Digipan 2.x is now available, and it is free. It is by the same Russkies who wrote MixW and is an excellent program with most of the good features of MixW but limited to PSK and FSK modes.

They have added PacTOR (I) to the new Digipan release (it is read-only, but there so that you (ostensibly) can report interlopers and interference from PacTOR stations on the Digipan.net website.

Try it. It's free and it works very, very reliably.
