Sounds like the band is about to open up for a little winter E-skip. Turn the rigs on and listen for me in EN44.

6 meters was open from the Dallas area to North and South Carolina for a couple of hours this evening. The Forth Worth 10 meter FM repeater garnered several Virginia stations. However, they were easier to copy on the input frequency rather than through the repeater most of the time.

I heard an N6 on 52.525 MHz FM for a few seconds then he was gone. Don't know if he was in California or not. He could have been on the east coast since that was where the SSB stations were coming from.

I camped on 50.125 for the most part. Worked the WY station on 50.147 when he announced a QSY. 5 watts into a Moxon type antenna. I never bother checking any of the AM or FM portions of anyones 6M bandplan as I'm running horizontal polarization only at the moment. One of these days I'll have to break down and build a vertical antenna.

Antenna polarization doesn't matter for any kind of skywave propagation, it all gets scrambled - so you can monitor 52.525 for openings if you want to with your yagi, but Eskip signals will often be too weak to copy on FM.

There are some good FM repeaters in Wisconsin on 6, but they're mostly in SE WI, I think - probably too far for you with any polarization of antenna, though I worked one mobile out to 'House on the Rock' once.

Yep, the 6M repeaters listed all seem to be down in the Milwaukee corner of the State.

hey ECI, there's a 6M repeater in Wausau that I was able to hit from Eagle River with a dipole in a tree. 52.83 out, 51.13 in. pl 107.2 its also linked to a 2m freq too.

No pl in my rig, but I'll program it in to listen too...I might hear it.

Canada is rocking on 50.125 in to EN 44 tonight.
