With the loss of all Martian civilization above the surface, the only beings left were the homeless street aliens who were living in caves or old sewers.

They now approach the space buggy every night with squeegees and beg for money, poor souls.

For proof I would like you to examine the tracks to the upper right of the vehicle. You will see that they were left by a shopping cart.

Who cares? As long as they don't come back like they did at Grovers Mills (only a few miles from here) in '38, let 'em live in peace. Or whatever.

Yes, they possibly have learned enough about earth folks on 2 levels just from watching our tv programs.

1) how violent we are with our own fellow man, watching video from the VIETNAM war, the GULF war, and now the IRAQ war...not to mention the footage of the 2 atomic bombs of JAPAN in WW II. Not the kind of video footage that makes the entire planet look like a peaceful race...but enough to make some aliens with far more advanced weapons to laugh at us.

2) If the aliens ever watch out sitcoms, they have a very distorted view of earth life...alf...mork & mindy...lost in space...star trek...all in the family...mr ed...8 simple rules...king of the pride...simpsons...they have a very distorted view of how earth people are.

So for the most part they stay away...sneaking around every now & then to gather a speciman or two for surther study, but for the most part, leaving us alone ( wise move by them ).

That explains those mysterious signals on 3.700 DSB!

Actually, the rover hasn't found anything but rocks, dirt and no life.

The best we can tell, the physical universe is of a single age. If there are civilizations out there, they are likely no more advanced than we are, and probably have similar social problems. As yet we have no standard for comparison, except what exists on this planet.
So, why assume that because they aren't human, that they are morally or intellectually superior to us, or that they've avoided the same tides of history that knock down our civilizations every so often?

Hmmmm. Maybe they are actually on a sound studio in Area 51 and the janitor accidently cleaned one. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I'll bet they are arguing to institute code testing!!! Kind of a parallel universe thing!!!

Tongue in cheek....

Do you think the Martians will be able to track Santa Claus?

We might not find anything on Mars.. but I believe there are others.. maybe even humans living on different planets. As for the "Car Wash", maybe the thing paid a few bucks at the local "Rover Wash"...

I like that commercial for the soft drink (I think), where the NASA engineer is monitoring a rover. Suddenly, an alarm goes off. He looks at the monitor in time to see the rover jacked up and wheel-less, and creatures disappearing over the hill.:)

Unless Nasa found a Ham Radio on Mars, this is in the wrong message area.
