This goes out to everyone who has ever been supportive of me here on QRZ...
First off I want to thank each and every one of you. Reading the posts about the fun of DX'ing is what prompted me to upgrade my ticket. You've truly made it possible for me to have fun in this hobby.
To N7AAO Personally:
David, you and I haven't always agreed on everything that's been posted here, but we've been able to carry on healthy debates and for that, I thank you. You've opened my eyes in more ways than one and you've made it possible for *ME* to be open-minded about this hobby and those who inhabit it.
The fraternity is still strong... The only things we need to learn as Hams is that even the new guy, ergo myself and countless others, have something to contribute to this hobby as well. This fight about 5WPM or Extra-Lite and other derogatory term needs to stop if this hobby is going to advance.
73 and 88 everyone, and happy DX'ing. I'll be out on the air tomorrow with WX4MLB for Skywarn Appreciation Day. If you hear me, give me a shout.
Sometimes, especially in families like this one, it's just time to break away and move on.

Thank you. That tells me that I am accomplishing what I set out to do.
But if the rest of you think I am leaving now that my job is done, think again! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
I think I hear a "farewell" in the message above. Is there a complaint in there somewhere?

His complaint came in another thread, I think.
Me too! And I can't figure out why a person would want to step out of a resource when he is just getting started with it ! Anthony, you haven't given this thing enough of a chance. Sure there are some times when all of us don't agree on particular points, but that goes whenever two or more people gather together!
Things get a bit rough around the edges, especially in the "anything goes" forum, but for the most part, we have all learned to "consider the source" when we get rubbed the wrong way, and shake off the dust and go from there. ( how's that for a fist full of cliche's ! )
If you feel you must leave, then don't let us stop you, but if you feel that you would like to tell us a bit more about what is "bugging old Pharoah" , please feel free to tell us more!
Otherwise, I hope to meet you on the air some day. One of the wonders of this hobby is that that expression has grounds in reality, and is NOT just an old cliche' !

Anthony-
I'll keep an ear out for you, you keep an ear out for me with WX9ARX tonight.
Anthony,
People tend to take this QRZ stuff waaaaaaay to personally. Stick around, guy. You're welcomed in any of my discussions anytime! This would be really boring if everyone agreed on everything.
Come on Tony, I will assume you have not run into some of the older gents on 80 meters yet?
Don't turn into one of these guys that sends his license in to the FCC.
There are a lot of people out here that are worth communiating with, and others that I wished I had never met.

Hey, guys, it's his decision, don't try to make it for him. It's also his right to spend his online time at the sites of his choosing, let's not infringe on that right.
But, VPR, if/when you return, I for one will welcome you back.

no need in leaving permanently...within a week or two there will be a new thread you will want to comment on... or a couple of weeks from now you will want to wish all of us scoundrels a MERRY CHRISTMAS...then a week later you will want to tell most of us fools HAPPY NEW YEAR... then who knows what kind of NEW THREADS we will come up with in 2005 you will want to comment on ?
dont leave ME to fight all these rascals by myself !!
If you do, I might have to start letting my KIDS post and tell them off !!

Kindly send her over to my house, please... There's something I'd like to discuss with her...
Tnx

Anthony,
I will miss your comments and insights. I guess that sometimes things happen on these forums that make you take a step back and wonder "why am I here". It seems that in the last few months we have lost several.
I would not worry over the code question or who is or is not an Extra Lite or who sat before the FCC examiner etc. What you see here is the cumulative effect of hams who have been around more than 50 years and those who have been licensed for less than a month. Regardless of what some my say, These forums are a model of the great melting pot of society.
We will be a bit poorer without your voice.

Anthony, I hope you reconsider. I only remember exhanging a few messages with you. I did appreciate your comments, however. I'm sorry that someone made you mad enough to go away, but hopefully, you'll come back. Meanwhile, enjoy your ham radio activities and 73.

Well, at least no one has defeated your firewall sent a bot in to download a shot of the world from space that zooms in to show the United States and further to a shot of your town with a set of cross hairs over the exact area you live in in that town then have a very official looking screen come on that scrolls interesting things like "Target acquired" and "missiles launched" then have the bot proceed to eat everything on your hard drive did they??
The suits still haven’t figure out how it was done. They were very interested in it, said its illegal to do that sort of thing. Hasn’t happened a second time still don’t know where it came from.

Maybe the guy just got tired of the BS and wrangling. Just because he is leaving, doesn't mean he is angry.
Good luck Anthony and enjoy what ever you take on next.

BTW, Anthony, I personally worked MLB, not only as WX9ARX when Stef was working, but I caught up later on and worked it again as KC9ECI. How was the 6 layer chocolate cake?
