W2KW was an old friend of mine. #He had a antenna consisting of a triangular array of 3 sterba curtains (commerical quality construction between three 140 foot towers) that he could switch around for directivity in different direction at his "Radio Hill" Middletown NY location and he used simpler antennas such as dipoles, and occasionally a small yagi at his QTH on a hill above Sugar Bay on ST. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. #I knew Clarence from ST. Thomas but had also visited him, his wife Florence, his station and QCWA Radio Museum in NY on "Radio Hill". #He was active up until at least the year before his death. #Clarence was an old timer that who had been 2KW in the early days and also had been a ship Radio Officer during summers when he was in Law school in the 30's. #A great lost to his family, friends and the amateur radio community.
