Kerry actually won Ohio, before he lost it.

It appears to be still a bit up in the air and it will be days before we know for sure, since Ohio's provisional ballots won't be counted for 11 days.
In past elections, though, until 2000, the apparent loser conceded on election night. Dole, for example, in 1996 and Bush, Sr in 1992. Al Gore started the "Let's do it all again" process, and, if Kerry continues to trail behind Bush, he will do it, too. Many thousands of lawyers are on the scene, and thousands more are on standby, to file every possible suit they can.
If Bush trails in electoral votes, maybe he will do the same thing, but so far that has not come to light. We may not know for ten-twelve days who is President.
It appears possible there could be a tie. Here in New Mexico, we have a way of solving tied elections. The contestants draw a card. High card wins. It can also be settled by any game of chance, such as a hand of poker, blackjack, or a coin toss. Maybe we need to put that into the Presidential election, too.
I will not be glued to the TV. I have a life to live.
Enjoy your day

being glued to the TV is almost as bad as being glued to a computer without being PAID to be glued to it.
Some folks just dont have a life away from the tv / computer...and their grouchiness shows up. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/blues.gif

I was a registered Democrat until after the 2000 election, when I was sickened by the "dimpled chad" fiasco in Florida. I then changed my party affiliation to Republican. Now, don't get me confused with the straight party voting kind of guy, I vote my mind after studying the candidate and the issues.
I noted in this election that Kerry's plan (to get elected, not that he ever really put forth any plan as to what he would do if elected) was to blame the President for anything and everything that happened, even if it was fabricated and later discredited. I try in my life not to deal with persons who refuse to speak plainly or who carry tales without the facts and I sure wouldn't want to elect such a person.
During the election I did note that the President never slammed Kerry for his very questionable behavior during the Vietnam war (meeting with and giving aid and comfort to the enemy, along with "Hanoi" Jane Fonda and Tom Hayden) or the fact that a popular brand of Ketchup is primarily outsourced, or that he threw his military medals away (did he or didn't he that is the question).
I guess it all boils down to, if Kerry and the Dems decide act like children and count "dimpled chads" and the like, they will lose a lot more voters in the future.
As always, IMHO

Right about 10:00 CST Kerry called Bush and conceded defeat. My understanding is that he will make a public speech at 12:00CST making it public.
Hopefully he won't take the concession back like Gore did 4 yrs ago and take months in the courts to settle it.

WAIT A MINUTE --- When Kerry called Bush, did he end the call with, "And, uh, Baba Booey to y'all!" ?
Just wanted to make sure it really WAS Kerry and not Captain Janx.

That is so pithy and funny, I can't make up my mind which laughing face to use. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
