Anyone ever wonder what kind of Psycodynamics (just made up a word) come into play when a team like St. Louis which was the class of the National League can not generate any offense in their own stadium?

The more I watched it the more I could not believe what was happening. Puljols, Rolen, and Edmunds completely ineffective at the plate.

The 4th game Coup de Gras by boston was actually an act of mercy.

Obviously, my knowledge of baseball is poorer than I thought, I thought the Cards would win easily, but here's my thought...

It seemed to me like the Red Sox had seen the Cards pitching before, or studied it, while it seemed like the Cards were totally on their heels and confused.

I can't understand it either...I guess the bottom line is that winners find a way to win and losers find a way to lose.

The first game was close, the 2nd game seemed like it went to the red sox out of pure momentum, but the 3rd game was the Cards chance to make a come back. I think the turning point of that game was when Suppan made the base running error at third, and couldn't gain his composure on the mound. Pitchers are notorious head cases. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I'm very familar with Jeff Suppan, since I'm a Pirates fan (have mercy on me) and he used to play with them. There were a lot of ex Pirates in this series. Wakefield, Arroyo, Pokey Reese, Suppan, and Sanders just off the top of my head.

That's my take...but what do I know? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

That's only 3 years off. If you mean the Sox won't win another game until then, that works for me. If you mean another World Series title, another 86 years sounds about right. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif

I read that the Sox will receive their World Series rings in next year's opening game at Fenway Park, with the opponent Yankees standing by watching! Ouch!

This whole "curse" thing started with the trade of Ruth to the Yankees... it's now reversed..... so the Yankees will go for 86 years without winning the world series. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Yeah they can do that. But most of the Yankees will be wearing their 4 rings they have won or the team can bring a case along to set up beside the dugout during the ring ceremony with the complete set of rings the team has gathered since the Red Sox won their previous championship. I am not sure the Sox will like that count and comparison real well.

It was really the New York Yankees dressed up like the Boston Red Socks that really won! They felt so sorry about the Red Socks not winning a World Series that they changed uniforms.

This was to be politically correct so that the Red Socks didn't lose their "self respect" anymore.

One thing nobody has pointed out (that I've heard anyway) is the irony of Curt having his bloody ankle giving him "red socks"! That must've been a sign.

Also, the same Navajo Indian who put a blessing on the Sox team also blessed Kerry's chances for winning the presidency. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

But a Voodoo priestess around New Orleans "blessed" the Red Socks and put a curse on Kerry! Who's "medicine" will be greater?

You sure she didn't curse the Redskins by mistake? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

Why would she waste the energy to do that since no curse is needed for those guys right now.

At the end of the game, I was kinda expecting the earth to split, satan to pop out and say....

"Hey... can I borrow a snow shovel?"
