Folks I have added something new to the forecast so please read the whole forecast. The new additions are at the bottom.
Folks after a somewhat so so weekend Troop wise along US. East Coast. It looks like at this point in time that, Monday through Friday, the week will start out Poorly for those of us along the North East U. S. East Coast and Also for those of us along the South East Va Coast and North East NC as well. However When Tues and Wed come rolling in thing will pick up some what along the East Coast with Wed looking to be the best so far. And it looks like the week will end (Friday) as it started, Poorly. #So, don't abandon ship just yet. I suggest you try to make the best of it and Look at the hourly weather forecasts on the Weather Channel Web Site (weather.com) and see when a temp inversion is most likely to take place, Also, if FOG #sets in this could be a temp inversion happening in your area. As the warmer air is overlaying the colder grounder air, so, give it a shot and through out a CQ. Also, #listen for beacons to the North and South. Beacons are usually low power and if you can hear them the there's a good possibility that Troop is about. These are just a few things that you can do help make VHF / UHF SSB Contacts even when the Tropo is not at it's best or is at it's best. Another words give it that old college try.

Each Week I will try to add a little on Tropospheric Dx Modes in an effort to give a better understand as to how this forcast can help you in making 2 meter ssb, 70 cm ssb and 6 meter ssb DX Contacts. I'm not an expert and don't profess to be one. I know what I have studied in class and read. So, here goes.
Tropospheric Enhancement (TrE)..(akaTropospheric Refraction) is common under normal conditions. On most clear nights with calm or light winds..the ground radiates and the air near the ground cools. Eventually an inversion is formed and signals begin to refract off the inversion. Stations that normally fade in and out via tropo scatter come in continuously..with increasing strength. Also..weaker tropo scatter stations that are normally not heard (because their signal strengths never cross the background noise threshold signal level) also begin to appear. When the sun comes up..the ground & air heats up..the inversion breaks down..and the enhancement disappears. The enhancement is subtle on some nights..and very obvious on other nights. Distances are no different than your tropo scatter catches..it's just that the signals are stronger. Tropo enhancement is greatly influenced by terrain..with valley and coastal paths favoured. ("Fog-prone" areas are also "DX-prone" areas!!). From a DXers point of view, multiple directions usually are enhanced at the same time.
Here are some things that I do to help me determine when the Tropo might be at it's best:
1. Look at the hourly weather forecasts on the Weather Channel Web Site (weather.com) for my area and see when a inversion is most like to take place.
2. listen for beacons to the North and South. Beacons are usually low power and if you can hear them the there's a good possibility that Tropo is about.
3. if I hear other repeaters coming in on the same repeater frequencies as in my area this is a good sign of Tropo too.
4. Also FM radio broadcasts, anotherwords if you have distant stations interfering with the local broadcast.
5. If Fog starts to set in, this means that a Temp Inversion is taking place, which means that DX could result.
These are just some of the ways you can tell if Tropo is about.
