I wonder how many millions it cost Fox to save their pervert?

I would be cautious about naming someone a pervert unless I could back it up with documented proof.
Even here, on QRZ, there are attorneys who read the forums!

It's getting rediculous. Any jackass can point a finger, make accusations, and do a number on somebody. And then the *bleeping* lawyers get in a huddle to reach a settlement. Doesn't mean a damn thing if the allegations are true or not.
It's enough to puke a maggot.

Why did they settle then?

Well it could be for the obvious reason that you thought I knew [yeah I did]. Or it could be she had the goods on him and fox and O'Reilly didn't want the negative publicity [and lost revenues in fox's case] that a trial would bring.
I imagine it was put up or shut up time for Makris when they were all setting around the table. I think she put up.

Really?
I don't.
A case like this could grind on and on and on, with allegation after allegation being thrown into the fray, with or without substantiation (always to be contested) - and two years down the road nobody gives a damn any more. The mud has been slung and reputations irreversibly damaged with NOTHING being settled.
This female has NOTHING to lose and everything to gain. I can't stomach her kind of garbage.

Complete Bravo Sierra.
The man is obviously guilty, otherwise he wouldn't have settled so quickly.
He and Michael Jackson are no different. Do the crime, and pay the money to keep their own personal money train rolling along.
You are only apologizing for this idiot because he spouts a twisted view of the world some "conservatives" happen to want, but can't accept doesn't exist.
I'm sorry Makris didn't push it further. O'Reilly is just like William Bennett. A two-bit phony moralist who got caught with his pants down.

You just KNOW that some tabloid somewhere will announce that they have aquired the alleged tapes of conversations between the two of them. And shortly thereafter, it'll get put out on the internet, alongside the Paris Hilton video.
Makris will become a millionaire above and beyond the payoff millions she's already made, by doing upcoming interviews, book deals, and made-for-tv movies. Next, Makris will be on a Hilton-like remake of that dorky farm-girl show (it sucked so hard that I can't remember the name of it). Finally, Makris will have her OWN "no spin" show, called the "Markis Factor", probably airing after O'Liely is dead and buried.

If O'Reilly had come out and said, "This is complete garbage. I didn't do any of the things she claims I did," I might have believed him.
But, he didn't. Actually, he never denied any of it. He called it a scam, blackmail and lots of other descriptive terms but never called it lies. As such, who would think he is not guilty of what was alleged?
If the plaintiff spends the money on plastic surgery and a personal fitness trainer, I would applaud the financial reward.
Now, one has to wonder -- was O'Reilly getting a tossed salad from Makris? Inquiring minds....
O'Reilly (or Fox or both) paid because they wanted it to go away, as will Kobe.

WIK,
I agree with you 110%. I suspect if someone made a bogus charge about YOU, you might fight back.
