Does this CD contain a Database that can be accessed via another application like or is it still proprietary?

Quote[/b] ]
The QRZ CDROMs have never contained proprietary data. Lots of applications can read the QRZ database. Many logbook programs directly support the QRZ CD.

I believe he was asking if the county (not country) is available on the CD (for instance K1TKL - me -- San Diego County)

Quote[/b] ]
Ooops... That's right.

We're sorry but the CD does not contain USA County data.

Can the CD Be updated online??

The CD database is about 300 megabytes of data which makes it hard to update online. Since it is pre-sorted in large chunks, it's not practical to provide online updates. Instead, we long ago decided to offer a new CD every 6 months at a reasonable price.

Will the major retailers (HRO, AES, et. al.) have it available too?

(I know some hams who are not fond of putting their credit card information online)

Quote[/b] ]
Yes, it will be available at AES and HRO. In addition, we accept orders by personal check as well as FAX orders.

Our online ordering process uses two encrypted secure servers that are backed by Verisign, Inc. for an extremely safe online transaction experience. In more that 7 years of taking online orders, we've never had a single security incident.
