We are receiving many requests from groups to continue this event, and to make it bigger and better. #Place the URL in your favorites and keep abreast to the exciting changes and updates. #
Have your local Amateur Radio Club become a part of ARMAD to join in the fun, and great public service that it provides for the Military and it's affiliates, as well as helping to support the families and friends of those that serve. #
# # This is a unique event in that Amateurs allow their communites to express live support over the Ham Bands.

Golden Corral Restaurants Military Appreciation Day is November 15, 2004. This is a golden opportunity for Amateur Radio to put itself in the spotlight. I met with the marketing mgr. today, and they welcome Amateur Radio to set up and demonstrate during this event. As many as 6000 Veterans and families will visit a Golden Corral during this special time. Also the media covers this event, quite well. It would be a great time for local Clubs to demonstrate Ham Radio, provide a great public service, and get some public support. It would be great to setup on IRLP and or Echolink and QSO with other Golden Corral's around the country, and let the people entering express appreciation to each other. It may well get Ham Radio on national TV.
Don't let this Golden opportunity pass us by. Put Amateur Radio on display during this event. We must do events that help us enhance our hobby, as well as give us good public relations.
Thank You;

Ft. Wayne, In. will run Echolink on 16686, and or 106819, and IRLP on 8380.

This could be a great time to recruit new Amateur's.

The Golden Corral has asked that any Amateurs wanting to participate in Military Appreciation day on Nov. 15, 2004 can contact a local resturant.
This would be an idea event for us to get some national media attention and to also perform a great public service that is highly popular at this time.
If we want to see our hobby continue to grow, and gain public awareness this is a great time to do so. This event is one of the largest of it's kind. Locally here in my hometown over 10,000 Active Duty, and Veterans with their familes attend. What an audience for Amateur Radio. We already have the Marketing team on our side as they like the idea of including Amateurs at the event.
Think about attending and making this one of your Clubs annual events. We could gain a lot of public and military support for the hobby, as well as have a great time!
