Another interesting point...

The lead article in August 2004 IEEE Spectrum is titled "The Unruly Power Grid, studies of electrical networks come to the same conclusion: Big Blackouts are Inevitable". If there is any good news here, is that if Reddy Kilowatt can't even keep the lights on reliably...maybe BPL won't be reliable either.

After the great northeast blackout some time ago, a number of folks suggested that utilities should concentrate on PPL technology -- power over power lines. :-)

Ok, maybe I am cynical, but when I first heard of BPL and the problems they cause, I did not think we could win. Let's hope that it proves to be cost ineffective for the utilities to have, but to give you an idea of a non-hams response. Over at Slashdot (that site has gone down hill very fast as of late) some one there said "I don't care about the inference! I don't care if another country has a problem, I just want my broadband cheap" I see that as a sad statement of the general population today, it is a "me first" population. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Well that is my 2c I am sure some one will give me some change for it.
