Here are the top 10 "Bushisms". These are only the top 10! The list is endless and growing every day (Internets). # My mother always told me stupid is as stupid does. #
The Stupidest Things President George W. Bush Has Ever Said
10) "Families is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream." —LaCrosse, Wis., Oct. 18, 2000
9) "I know how hard it is for you to put food on your family." —Greater Nashua, N.H., Jan. 27, 2000
8) "I promise you I will listen to what has been said here, even though I wasn't here." —Waco, Texas, Aug. 13, 2002
7) "You teach a child to read, and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test.'' —George W. Bush, Townsend, Tenn., Feb. 21, 2001
6) "Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country." —Poplar Bluff, Mo., Sept. 6, 2004 (Watch video clip)
5) "There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again." —Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 17, 2002 (Watch video clip)
4) "I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully." —Saginaw, Mich., Sept. 29, 2000
3) "They misunderestimated me." —Bentonville, Ark., Nov. 6, 2000
2) "Rarely is the questioned asked: Is our children learning?" —Florence, S.C., Jan. 11, 2000
1) "Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." —Washington, D.C., Aug. 5, 2004 (Watch video clip)
How can this country bumpkin be our President? #Can you really vote for someone that isn't really smarter than your neighbor? #Our Presidents in the past have been some of our most intelligent citizens. #
Yea - he graduated from College (barely) #but you think one of the most powerful and well placed families and their contributions didn't influence that.
Public speaking has never been one of President Bush's strengths, but I value his ability to lead, and a few mistakes at the podium do not give me great cause for concern. We could go on about Kerry's own shortcomings (senate record comes to mind, among others....) but just vote for who want and be done with it. As a current military service member, I think the past 4 years under Bush have been some of our best, and I hear the same thing echoed at my command (last night, from a Chief being the latest). I believe 3 out of the 28 people who work for me will be voting for Kerry (military typically votes Republican) so I guess we'll see on November 2nd...

SURE! If you like record deficits, joblessness, high gas prices, and unprovoked attacks on other countries! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif
And what unprovoked attacks on other countries are you referring to? I can't think of any recently... You must be referring to Clinton's attack on that Sudanese Pharmaceutical Plant, because as I recall, Iraq DID invade Kuwait and DID violate every UN mandate ordained. Are you referring to Afghanistan? You'll get nowhere with that one, either. Joblessness? The current national rate is 5.4%, does not sound to bad to me, is that not a historical low? The deficit? If you think Kerry is going to fix the deficit, I guess you were not watching the debates last week...
Very humorous.
I still wouldn't vote for Kerry under any circumstances.
Thank you. Drive through, please.

Someone forgot to teach their children respect.
Use this kind of logic, and we'd all vote for Slicky Boy used car salesmen who Talk A Good Game, but want to steal our money for wasteful gubmint giveaways, let murderers go free, support Reverse Discrimination, and make us take our orders from France and Germany.

That is a chain letter hoax. It does not exist. I'm surprised of the accuracy of the year though. He started writing his centuries in 1555.

I'll get shouted at for this since I'm not from the U.S., what do I know etc. Anyway, here's my favourite:

I submit this for consideration:
If you remember when asked about GWB's stance on letting americans import drugs from Canada
Quote[/b] ]HORSTMAN: Mr. President, why did you block the reimportation of safer and inexpensive drugs from Canada which would have cut 40 to 60 percent off of the cost?
BUSH: I haven't yet. Just want to make sure they're safe. When a drug comes in from Canada, I want to make sure it cures you and doesn't kill you.
And that's why the FDA and that's why the surgeon general are looking very carefully to make sure it can be done in a safe way. I've got an obligation to make sure our government does everything we can to protect you.
And what my worry is is that, you know, it looks like it's from Canada, and it might be from a third world.
And we've just got to make sure, before somebody thinks they're buying a product, that it works. And that's why we're doing what we're doing.
Now, it may very well be here in December you'll hear me say, I think there's a safe way to do it.
Kerry
Four years ago, right here in this forum, he was asked the same question: Can't people be able to import drugs from Canada? You know what he said? "I think that makes sense. I think that's a good idea" -- four years ago.
Now, the president said, "I'm not blocking that." Ladies and gentlemen, the president just didn't level with you right now again.
He did block it, because we passed it in the United States Senate. We sent it over to the House, that you could import drugs. We took care of the safety issues.
We're not talking about third-world drugs. We're talking about drugs made right here in the United States of America that have American brand names on them and American bottles. And we're asking to be able to allow you to get them.
The president blocked it.
[QUOTE]
That has to be the lamest answer I have ever heard. #He is worried about your safety? #Come -on does anybody really believe that? #I think he is worried about the big Drug companies who fund his campaign profits.
My point is this though:
I think I could defend his stance better than the President and that worries me. #Why didn't he discuss how a lot of the costs of producing these drugs are in the research and development. #If these companies can't recoup these costs they won't be able to develop these drugs. #At least that is an answer that makes sense and is defendable. #Do you want someone negotiating our future with other world leaders that obviously isn't intellectual enough to position and negotiate his stances?

Well Nostradamus in speaking of the village idiot could not mean Kerry, since he will not be elected,so he must of been refering to the 2008 Election and speaking of Hilliary proclaiming she is the leader of the world!!Didn't she proclaim that once before, when she proclaimed the voters got 2 leaders for the price of one ? # # http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

In most litmus tests, all the things that Bush has said and done, most scholars would agree that Mr. Bush doesn't have what he would be expected to have, considering those flowery degrees he is said to have.
Thank goodness for Laura, who works with him every night, correcting his grammar and sentence construction, to keep him from putting his foot in his mouth less often. It would be interesting to know just how he did get through those schools, wouldn't it?

"I voted for it, before I voted against it," to paraphrase.
Stupid is as stupid votes. Kerry, like Gore before him, is talking to potential voters as if they're stupid. And, again like Gore before him, he'll end up drawing people who are too stupid to know how to vote for him.
And they've already got their cheerleaders warming up! U.S Representative Stephanie Tubbs-Jones (D-Ohio) is already accusing the Ohio Secretary of State, Ken Blackwell, of disenfranchising voters because he's enforcing polling laws. Ken B's real misbehavior is that he's a black Republican, and therefore a "traitor."

You can say what you want, but, if Dubya does get re-elected, we are in for more hard times. We're tired of the lies, we're tired of the senseless spending, and we're just plain tired of this idiot we have for a president. I'm neither Dem. nor Rep., and have no party preference. If there's no best man for the job, all that's left, is the lesser of two evils...John Kerry. I'd much rather give JK a chance, than to have four more miserable years of GWB.

KD7EZE,
Well I am so very sorry that Dubya picked you out to give you a bad time,he didn't pick on any one else,in fact others got income tax rebates,he help to boost the economy and just barely was able to stop the recession that the last Democratic Administration left us in. If I was you I would complain to your Congressman (person)that you are being picked on by the president.
You want to see hard times SONNY,just elect Kerry and his Socialist administration and his Liberal UN mother may I routine and you will see hard times for the next 30 years or more.
You want hard times, you haven't seen the beginning yet, just stay tuned if Kerry gets elected, and you can't say he didn't warn you,if he hasn't changed again he said he would tax you like it was going out of style. # http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
I just heard a funny quote from Dubya on the radio this morning. He said (paraphrased) that we need to protect the OB/GYNs so that they can continue to provide love to their patients!!

I sit here and muse at the original poster's "Bushisms".
Mr. EFA cannot find real issues to post on, so he resorts to mocking our current Commander in Chief on the way he speaks. And my response?
Is THAT your best shot? Is THAT the best you can do?
He has posted an obvious troll here but it takes all kinds to make a world.
He and other liberals think that by posting such tripe, that he going to change someone's mind, but he and his liberal party are going to find out that there is going to be a whole bunch of vets like me that are going to do our best to ensure that Coward and Ambulance Chaser will NOT be elected. Ms Linda,
The one I fine even funnier is "The Back Door Draft".
The liberals whine and complain that The President is using the Guard and Reserves to supplement current troop strength. Well duh, isn't that what they are there for? It sure was when I was in. Besides the President has already said that there wasn't going to be conscription. We can do better with an all volunteer force made of men and women who want to be in the military.

I just think it's funny, regardless of who it is. But, anyone that thinks Bush is an idiot doesn't understand what it takes to be president, or to go to Yale for that matter. He's not a good public speaker, not the quickest with the answers, but does that make him stupid? Ignorant, slow-witted, morally bankrupt, misguided, blinded by his extremism to his 'faith', ignorant to the realities of the common experience of the average person in this country, willing to trample The Bill Of Rights to prosper his religious extremist agenda, uncaring about the environment, education, poverty, free expression, but not necessarily stupid.
Here's a good article on the subject:
Bushisms, The president's accidental wit and wisdom. (http://slate.msn.com/id/2100064/)
Quote from the article: "In reality, however, there's more to it. Bush's assorted malapropisms, solecisms, gaffes, spoonerisms, and truisms tend to imply that his lack of fluency in English is tantamount to an absence of intelligence. But as we all know, the inarticulate can be shrewd, the fluent fatuous. In Bush's case, the symptoms point to a specific malady—some kind of linguistic deficit akin to dyslexia—that does not indicate a lack of mental capacity per se."

Yes, if you think a nu-ku-ler Iran is doing better. Most would agree that Iran is building a BOMB. Bush has said that he will not negotiate with Iran (which would no doubt mean U.S. concessions). Military action would require the draft.

I would be willing to bet some one a beer that if Bush has the second term to complete what he started, the IRAN situation will under his plan #come to a solution with out the use of the military intervention or giving away the store at the conference table.
If on the other hand if Kerry gets his hands on it there will be no options but to give up or send in the troops and the outcome will be another Arab Country with Nuclear power.
