Amateur Radio Military Appreciation Day is an event to show honor and appreciation to those that serve our country. It is a chance for Amateur Operators to honor Active Duty, Reserves,National Guard, Veterans, and all Military support groups, and their families over Amateur Radio. It is a chance also to allow family members and friends to show support to those that serve by being able to speak live during the Special Event to show appreciation and support to troops, and families of those that serve.
This event is a great way for Amateur Radio to showcase itself as a public service, and to recurit new members to the hobby. Last year in Fort Wayne, In. we had over 6500 people attend the event, and most were impressed with our ability to provide this service.
We are asking Operators, Amateur Radio Clubs, and Military Amateur operators to join in with us and the other stations that support this event next year so that we can help show our friends, family, and neighbors that we support those that have and are now serving to keep us free. We also honor those that are injured and are in hospitals.

Let's show the world what we as Amateur Radio operators can do to show support to those that serve by allowing our friends, and neighbors, as well as family members express support to those that sacrifice "LIVE" by Amateur Radio. Set up a Special Event Station at or near a Military Base, VA Hospital, Reserve Center, Mall, Sporting event or public park. Join in as we and Amateurs from around the world show appreciation uing a great medium of communications. Let's "Ham It Up For The Military."
This is an excellent way to grow our hobby, and use it for a great cause. Many military support groups support this event, and would help to make it a sucess in your area.
