According to three different internet sources...

Tina Louise was born in NY on Feb 11, 1934.

Dawn Wells in Reno on Oct 18, 1938.

I for one am very glad that Mary Ann will never age. Ahhh, the magic of television.

Eeee Gads, 2 votes for Gilligan ! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

I'm sure there were many guys my age that first became aware of their hormones by watching "Gilligan's Island" http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

But I'm still of the opinion that the movie stars and starlets of the 30s and 40s knew how to have "it" without having to run around without most of their clothes off ! #

73 and pleasent thoughts! #Jim AG3Y

Yep, they may be in their 70's.. but just remember.

Barbara Eden, Raquel Welch and many of the others from that area are encroaching the mid-50's (if not older) and we ALL know how well they still carry themselves..

Besides.. you KNOW what they say about wine that has been stored properly.. it gets BETTER with age!

Besides. Mary Ann used to sublimate her 'urges' for Gilligan by making him all those bananna cream pies! Talk about innuendo-laden visual references acting upon a VAST pre-teen and teenaged boy audience!

Interesting trivia about the Prof:

K7KBN - Pat. I don't know if you met "Mary Anne" (Dawn Wells), but her father, Joe Wells owned the Thunderbird Hotel in Vegas. My mother and father were friends with Joe and my wedding reception, many moons ago, was hosted by Joe at the Thunderbird. Dawn was married a few months before I was and her father loaned us the stemware and champagne fountain that he had custom made for his daughter.

No.... Dawn is not 70. She always was quite attractive.

Joe Wells was a good guy. He gave the Las Vegas Amateur Radio Club,K7UGE, a rent free room at his hotel just off of the casino. It had a picture window so tourist could look in at the club station. He also bought all of the ham gear, desks, couch and chairs. Price was no object. We had a Collins S line and Collins linear amp, phone patch, etc and a 75 foot crank up tower (that Squeak, Ad7K fell off of) with a tribander. He paid our phone line, long distance charges for overseas phone patches for servicemen and printed our QSL cards. I still have a couple of cards. I miss "old Vegas" and the "boys" these CPA's that run things now won't give you the time of day.

73,
Terry, K7FE

There was an episode where a bad guy hypnotized everyone on the island with a ring; they'd find it and be in thrall to him. As I recall, he was SCARED of Ginger -- and Mary Ann slugged him.
