Long experience has shown me that it takes three charge cycles to bring a long-dead cell back to full capacity. Have not seen any such figure for the NiMH.

Six months ago I charged and measured a single cell, and left it discharged for six months. Then I repeated the test, and found it fully recovered with a single charge.

This is good news to me as I won't have to keep all my spares charged all the time. Just charge once before using.

uhhh . . .
I don't think I'd expect to see nearly as many cycles out of a NiCad or NiMH cell if left shelved and uncharged. I know this affects the chemical balance in a NiCad in an adverse manner; I'd also feel better knowing that the cells were hot in case I needed them on short notice.

Are we in the right forum?
