I decided to buy a new rig with some new-found cash. #I wasn't sure if I wanted an FT857 or a TS480. #
I walked into HRO in Delaware this afternoon and told the guy behind the counter my dilemma. #He answered quickly: "you want the Kenwood." # Then he showed me the difference and he was exactly correct. #
When I told him my call he recognised me from my posts here. #And only as I was leaving did I learn his call and that he too posts here. # That's right, my salesman was none other than Jim, N3JJA. #He was helpful, not pushy at all and a great guy. #
Only one other time was I recognised from being active here on qrz.com. #That was last year at a hamfest, where the guy selling the tickets in the parking lot recognised my mobile setup from the pics on my webpage!
I hope this may help some of you who are trying to decide what to buy and where to buy it. # Now I have to get to work putting this thing in the truck. #The TS140 is coming in the house as a SW receiver.
