2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
My condolences to his family.

I placed the tribute below on the UiView Sig, but before you read it I would like to point out that UiView registrations are still available! The only condition that Roger G4IDE sk and his Wife Dee placed on this was that a voluntary donation be made to your local cancer research group!
My contact information follows at the bottom of the tribute to Roger Barker G4IDE sk.
# # # # --------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was with sadness, that I read earlier this morning (9-9-2004) That Roger Barker G4IDE had become a Silent Key.
As one of Roger's many beta testers for UiView from around the world, I and the rest of the beta testers could see exactly how much effort Roger put into UiView32 to make it second to none the best client APRS software available on the face of the planet, and his efforts to satisfy the American market with PMap server 5 and 6 made us the envy of every ham outside the United States.
Fancy being able to zoom, pan to any point in the USA down to Street level!!
I often joked with many you could even see what type of oil was leaking onto a persons driveway!
(some believed that to)!
I even joked with one friend here in Phoenix, that I would watch over him as he was wheeled into the operating room to have a kidney removed, I later told him on his release from hospital that the nurse that was bent over him as he was being wheeled into the theater had a hairy chest and her breath smelt of Vodka! (I think he believed that also)! <G> And all that using UiView32
Our work as beta testers suddenly stopped those few short Months ago and we wondered what was happening? Where was Roger? Have we over worked him?
We knew we still had much to do and yet today UiView32 #is the most popular software being demanded by new hams on the APRS scene with over 300 new registration requests from the United States in just the last 4 or 5 Weeks alone!!
Roger's boots will be real hard to fill!
Does he ever sleep many asked?
No matter what time of day! Even in the middle of the night, you could always expect a quick response from Roger,
"I lost my password"! #Response time = FAST!
"UiView crashed my PC"! Response time= INCREDIBLY FAST! (After all it was Windows that crashed, NOT the UiView 32 program)!
Will the legacy go on? YOU BETCHA!
The level of support in this forum will always ensure that!
Our condolences to his family I am sure will mean a lot to them in their time of sorrow from apparently so many strangers, but actually so many friends...
Thank you Dee and family for your help and support to Roger, but a very big THANK YOU Roger Barker ,G4IDE sk for your patience, work and the legacy that you will leave behind you in the forms of WinPack but especially UIVIEW32
Thanks again Roger and 73

I have just heard the sad news about Roger. I an glad that I knew him and his family. If we all contribute just a fraction of what Roger has to this hobby and the world then we would all benifit.
You will be missed but not forgoten Roger. Whilst memories last you will always be here.

Hi all
As the author of the http://g4ide.ham-radio.ch/ website I can confirm that Rogers family have been in contact with me and will be reading each and every post.
It was passed on that Roger's son Steven said "the messages not only invoked an emotional response but also a great deal of pride on how people saw his Dad."
Many thanks for your messages.
