Existing repeater system operations that possess documented proof of expired coordination from the former TSARC have been provided a two year opportunity to update their coordinations with MetroCor. MetroCor's "moratorium" had minimized the possibility that new coordinations might inadvertently displace longstanding users of the spectrum and create disputes where none previously existed.
However this period must now come to an end. MetroCor will be terminating the moratorium as of midnight, Saturday, December 15th, 2004. If this affects you or someone that you know who qualifies for this exception, please refer to MetroCor’s FAQ No. 11, in order to gain new coordination through MetroCor.
Go to the MetroCor site for more information.MetroCor (http://www.metrocor.net)

Now this sounds like a group that gives repeater operator(s)/owner(s) the benefit of doubt!

Good Job!

Thank You for being a volunteer....

p.s. Kudos for a well organized Webpage too!

I started out in NJ and FWIW I think the "death" of TSARC can only be a good thing.

There were several instances of intentional interference by repeater owners that TSARC flatly refused to adress...

a new repeater coordination group? certainly can't hurt...

A buddy of mine (who happens to be a qrz.com moderator) and I applied to TSARC for a 440 pair in 1985. We're still waiting for either a pair or at least the courtesy of a rejection. I think 19 years is a long time to wait, no?

Chris,

I found a website that has the waiting list posted and were not even on it. There was someone listed as waiting since 1986 so if that were the case we should have been assigned a pair by now but I never received ANY type of notification. I think we should just find an open pair on 440 and put the equipment on the air, we submitted the paperwork and I agree. Waiting 19 years is a bit much when others get approval much much faster.

There is a new MetroCor related yahoo group for people with issues and complaints about MetroCor's handling of their coordination request.

This group was started as a "watchdog" effort and also in response to MetroCor shutting down its Forum at www.metrocor.net because people were voicing their displeasure in their lack of coordination.

The groups yahoo address is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MetroCor_Watch

Stop by join the group give us your story.

Please note: this yahoo group is not sponsored or sanctioned by MetroCor, its Board or Officers.
