The TROPO forcast for the US East Coast from the Delmarva to Ga is looking good. I have made contacts
on 2 meter ssb to stations up North in PA, NY, NJ and down South in NC.
Now why are stations in SC, GA and FL not beaming towards the great North? We would like to hear from you on 2 meter ssb.

Well I suggest that you invest like the rest and get a all mode UHF/VHF rig, then you can become part of the gig.
You dig??

I listen to .52 simplex every afternoon for the ride home while I work 20 cw. I know it's not SSB, but you'd figure SOMETHING would break the squelch if the band is open. Nada, nothing happening.
I remember working lots of band openings on 2 FM back in the day. A friend of mine had a TS700 (10w) and we used his Shakespear Big Stick CB antenna on the roof. Yessireebuddy, we had some serious fun with that thing!

Folks 2 meter ssb has been wide open this weekend on the US East Coast. All sorts of good contacts with stations from the North. However, where are the stations from the South? Why are we not hearing stations from Tenn, Ga, Fl, NC, KY?
Where have all the southern 2 mtr ssb stations gone? long time no contacts. Where have all the southern 2 mtr ssb stations gone? Gone off the air every one.
When will they return? When will they returnnnnnnnnn?

Rather be on CW than any band SSB. No offense, it's just a matter of preferences.
Enjoy!

Oh well, if that's your choice so be it. You are the one losing out not me. I for one like the chalenge of having to work for the contact and not just turn on the radio and the people stepping on each other. It takes a certian type of person to really want to climb the ladder of excelance as far as working for the contact and not going for the easy one.
There are a lot of stations coming in from the NE this morning. The approaching storms from the South should bring some Tropo with them.
