Don't you mean "The Summer Brother's Smothers Show"?
I loved Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.
"So much time to make up every where you turn
Time we have wasted on the way.
So much water moving underneith the bridge
Let the water come and carry us away"
Gawd, I love that song and "Southern Cross"
Write 'em in. I'll vote for 'em!

One interesting side note about the relationship between Gram<sp?> Nash and Steven Stills.
Back in the day when Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young had some pretty big hits out, Mr. Stills had a little problem with an addiction. It was so bad that he nearly lost EVERYTHING! In order to get the money to maintain his addiction, he sold (yes, sold) ALL of his copyrights to ALL of his songs. Mr. Nash, being the true human being that he is, found out who it was that Steve sold the copyrights to, and bought them back and GAVE THEM back to Mr. Stills. This is a TRUE story.
Now that's a true friend for ya! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Howdy Dudey would make as good a politician as any in Washington. I think that some of them would make good puppetts to the special interest groups they serve. But I'm not going there.

Don't know about Howdy Dudey, but Howdy Doody now resides in the Smithsonian Institution! Unfortunately, Buffalo Bob Smith died a couple of years ago and the original Clarabell the Clown (Bob Keshan a.k.a. Captain Kangaroo) died last year as well.
Of course Howdy's "likeness" adorns the 1800s piano in my dining room!

Yo kd5wpw,
Sorry I was to slack to look up your name..
I just saw a bio on Mr. Crosby the other night. Seems as though Mr. Nash spent about a year sobering/detoxing him up as well. Graham Nash must have been the cornerstone.
Never heard "The Hollies" that much, I think that was the band he (Mr Nash) was in originally...but the harmony and acoustic work that Crosby,Stills,Nash, and Young did was incredible.
Did not realize he did all that stuff for Stills...cool..makes me respect him that much more.
Its good to have a true friend for sure.
Thanks for info,

Yes he is.
Every once in a while he's on the 75 meter west coast AMI net on Wednesday nights (9 PM Pac around 3770kc),
avid AMer that he is.
I have heard him several times, but I haven't worked him, no AM gear here.

Yep, it's indeed good to have friends. Of course, the only reason why my friends keep me around is for a bad example (at least I serve a purpose). And I'm good at it too! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
Neil Young, who went solo from Crosby, Stills, and Nash, is still doing some recording. It's my understanding that he is a BIG modle train buff. I think he bought into Lyonal Trains.
"Hey, hey- my, my
Rock and roll can never die..."
# # #or
"I think I'll pack it in
And buy a pickup
And head it down to LA..."
And then there's "Ohio" (about Kent State)
"Old Man" "Southern Man" and a whole bunch of others.
Yep, I like Neil Young too. Betcha you couldn't tell that though, could ya? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
P.S. My name is posted below. Of course, you can call me anything. Just don't call me "collect" or "late for dinner". <huge groan> http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
