Hey, a few years ago our federal government paid through the nose for a study with the premysis that erratic driving causes accidents!

Both the Canadians and our own federal government could have paid me... I would have told them what they spent all the money to find out. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Who was the placebo group?
The real PO'd or the ultra cheery. #
I kinda need a grumpy day now and then....poetically speaking..you know to appreciate the sunshine and stuff.
But, a smile to a stranger really don't hurt, or a nice word on the radio.
Gut laugh often,

Everybody knows that happy people do not get sick as
often as unhappy people. It is obvious that the surly bird gets the germ.

Wasn't that after he married Ono?
Perhaps it was a message to her.

It might be like the qualifications to be a pessimist :
* no knowledge of the subject is required
* a biased opinion is a must
* negative attitude is a definate plus
* instant ability to get folks to despise you
* loud voice with slurring of the words is helpful
* swinging of the arms is needed for face-to-face confrontations ( dont do no good on the internet) { there he goes, tearing up the english language again with that " dont do no good " junk } http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
no, I did not get this info from my personal life...mostly just from watching politicians on tv for past 20 odd years !! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif

The song was from the White Album "Happiness is a warm gun"
it was recorded before Yoko was on the set screeching, she was a major problem at the studio and was one of the leading reasons for the breakup of the Beatles.
John insisted she set in on the recordings, she would just blurt out with some catawhalling, this would disrupt the boys, especially Paul... #
I have every album by the Beatles, was always a fan and it was a great loss when John was murdered...

To get back to the original topic...
I dunno which was the "control" group... maybe it was made up of people like Ben Stein, who never seem to get really mad or really happy. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

That guy is not only smart, he's funny--a lot funnier than one would expect from a Nixon speech writer! That's right, before he advertised "Red Eyes," before he was Beuler's history teacher, he was one of Nixon's legal advisers and speech writer. And he still teaches law at Pepperdine.

I think part of what makes him so darned funny is his absolutely perfect deadpan delivery. I don't think there's been a better deadpan since Jack Benny died. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Once, when Jimmy Kimmel was still cohosting "Money" with him. #He got into the isolation booth and actually lost to the #contestant. #When he got out of the booth, he said, "Those were the hardest
f-something (sic) questions I ever heard!" #Probably the funniest line ever delivered on that show, by the audience reaction.
BTW, while I'm typing this, I'm looking out my window.
Across the road is a rental stable/riding academy. Today, is shoeing day. The blacksmith is doing his thing the old fashioned way. Fascinating!

Well, the big wigs in government ride in limos with really good suspension systems, so they don't notice the pot-holes.

As Jim Hightower's father used to say "Things go better for everybody when things go better for everybody...".
I caught Ben Stein on CSPAN the other night. He almost had me believing that there is no poverty or racism in America. He hasn't lost a beat since he was writing for Tricky Dicky. Those part-timers at Wal Mart are solidly middle class because they can afford the cheap plastic junk they sell there. He almost has a point. Was he the one who defined ketchup as a vegetable?
