This revised section of the Fair Labor Act is supposed to guarantee overtime pay for low income workers, but there appears to be much disagreement about the real impact that the law will have.

Does ANYONE have any idea just how this all is supposed to work? #For example, I am employed in the construction industry, in an administrative position, and I understand that I may no longer be allowed overtime pay for overtime work! # BTW, without being specific, my salary range is typical for my position and location ... ~ $65k/year. #I understand possible exemption from this law is somehow based on earnings.

There seems to be a lot of confusion as the date approaches. Hope this helps. (http://www.knoxstudio.com/shns/story.cfm?pk=OVERTIME-08-18-04&cat=WW)

Yes, now some businesses will be teaching their employees to say"...In my professional opinion, you need fries with that...".

I was wondering the same thing. I only get to charge overtime if I work more than 24 hours in any one day.

Over time?

Isn't that what's expected when you are working a project and need to do what it takes to meet the customers needs?
