Hello once again everybody!

I would like to put up a post here that at around 0130 UTC Monday morning, (2130 EDT Sunday evening), I will be calling CQ on one of two frequencies, due to QRM.

14.312 MHz

OR

14.344 MHz

I would do CW but I don't have a key yet. Anyone that would like to make contact with me, give it a try tonight and hopefully conditions on 20 won't be too bad.

Be sure to check BOTH frequencies, as I'm not sure which of the two will be best for me due to QRM/QRN/QSB.

So remember, tonight at 0130 UTC (2130 EDT) point your beams towards Georgia and listen for me.

Once again for those of you that can't do the 24-hr format, Sunday, 07/25 at 9:30 PM Eastern!!!

Hope to log you all, 73 http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif #http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

It is a 50/50 shot from me, but hey it is big world out there...Go for it.

My rig has been warming up for about half an hour now and the frequency display seems to have setteled down already. It tends to drift a bit if I don't give it at least that much time. I'll tune up in a bit and be ready. I want to test my new Windom anyway

At the moment, it's 9:15 PM EDT, so I have 15 minutes until my time. Hopefully more folks will see this thread and jump on and make contact with me this evening! Hopefully band conditions will cooperate.

I hope to work many QRZ.com users!

Well, FP caught one of my contacts, Don in Utah, but other than him I had one other QSO for a total of 2. But hey, Utah and Arizona isn't that bad for an east coast station like myself. Too bad conditions didn't play out.

I got started off about 5 minutes late due to antenna troubles, but began calling CQ right around 2135 EDT. I quit calling CQ around 2153 EDT, so I was there for a while. I'll have to try again sometime! #http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif Hopefully a good condition night will come in the next two weeks.

Pat ,

Can you work 40m ? It is a bit better at night than 20m provided you can find a clear spot between the broadcast stations . 20m is ok though . It sometimes fades after dark . I think the solar flare is what got you tonight . HF has been the pits all day today because of it . Keep having fun on the bands .

very best 73

PHOOEY! Found your post 45 minutes too late. I tried both freq's at 02:15Z and got an earful of static.

20 is hellish. I can kick on a linear but it won't do much good unless you can too.

Canya?

Well guys, I can't do anything else tonight since I have to be up in the morning.

But I tell ya what.

Send me an e-mail to kg4yuv@qsl.net
and we'll set up some skeds, quite possibly an informal "QRZ.COM T&O users rag-chew group". What do you guys think of that idea??

Anyway, send me an e-mail some time and we'll set a sked, any band(s) besides WARC or 75 (antennas aren't cut yet http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif )

KRP,
No 100W is tops around here. I just whipped up a Windom and hung it in the trees today so naturally the bands are in the pits. All my fault had nothing to do with the giant solar flare. Broad sholders, strong back, I can take it.{not really but these new pills help a lot}

It was a great idea, but the band is just not there today...at least at my location, 20m has been in and out all day. Even on the digimodes, i'll have a strong copy on a station one minute, then absolutely nothing a minute later! Maybe next time.

It's your fault.

You might want to wait till things cool down in a few days/week. the bands are pretty dead out here in Maryland due to the geomagnetic storm. An A index of 90 and K index of 7 is a recipe for family time.
