My wife just gave me the new book "Ham Radio for Dummies" for my birthday. I can't remember if this was covered as a topic here or not. On first glance through it looks like a great book for someone wanting to know about ham radio and one all clubs should have on hand for newbies. Anyone else read it yet?

Why should a ham need to read a book about how to be a radio ham when he already is one ? Its like reading a book "How to pass your driving test" whenyouv've been driving for 40 years

Have you seen "War for Brits?"

It recommends wearing bright red coats and standing in the open in straight lines.

I had a few minutes to kill yesterday morning so I went by a well known book store chain to look for the book. Running a title search the computor said there was one in the media-film making section. Alas, it was nowhere to be found. I even checked the electronics section with the same result. Oh, well. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

I did notice that they still have Billy Boy's book prominately displayed at the front door and it's 30% off.
