The ARRL is offering an award for working all states during their 90th anniversary. All that is required is the logged contact, no qsl card confirmation. I managed 48 during Field Day and snagged 49 last week. But where the heck is Delaware? I check the statistics and discovered DE is the least populated state in terms of hams. My question is, would it be illegal, immoral, or in poor taste to use qrz.com to set up a schedule with one of you fine gents in Delaware? Post here, or better yet, let’s discuss on the air – especially if you are in Delaware. 20 meters is good for me. Let me know. Tomorrow would be a good day. Name the time and frequency. Only stations in Delaware need apply.

Quite a while ago, QST did an article about WAS, giving statistics and numbers. Delaware and Nevada were consistently the last two states on the applications...and I lived in Nevada at that time.
Delaware was referred to even then as "Dela Rare".

It is neither illegal nor immoral to set up a sked for such a contact. In fact, it's quite common.
Tell you what . . . you should have this taken care of by September, but I have a road trip to Delaware planned for a weekend in Sept. If you haven't done it by then, we'll work out a sked. I have HF mobile and will be happy to work you from Delaware.
I'm about 80 miles from Delaware, otherwise, I'd hop in the truck and drive there for you tomorrow.
Good luck.

Send me an airticket, and I am there tomorrow too. Maybe I have a beer with Chris.
I have a really good mobile set up and am located in Philadelphia.
I can go to Delaware after only a 30 minute drive and am quite flexible regarding a schedule.
Let me know if you'd like to have a sked to bag your DE QSO.
E mail address is listed in the QRZ call sign look up for "N8LXR."

Pierre, you get here and the beer is on me!
That would be a long trip for a brewski though, wow.
And BBC, LXR seems to have you covered. Can't beat that offer! I'm glad you shouldn't have to wait until September, but if something comes up, you know where to find me.
Good luck.

You guys are awesome. I will probably take up some on their offers – but don’t expect any plane tickets – that, unfortunately I cannot do. Thank you all for responding. These are the moments I am reminded of the so many good people who are hams.

I talk to Delaware pretty much every night. 3.920 is the MEPN and we have a DE rep check in Monday thru Friday.

Thank you one and all who volunteered helping me out. Tonight I worked Dale, KB3FEI to finally get Delaware. As you might know, band conditions are about as bad as can be so it was not armchair copy – but we made it!
Check out the ARRL website. The WAS in the 90th is a very attractive certificate and not needing to chase down the QSL cards made it a very low key award to earn. I had a blast.
