The famous antenna expert, radio astronomer, etc., died last Sunday. Although I heard about it on Monday, it did not occur to me to post anything about his death.

Sad news Glen; truly a person whose life should be celebrated within amateur radio and science, and contributions to the technology all people benefit from in one way or another. Someone that is largely responsible for many things we take for granted today, and certainly a shining example and positive image for amateur radio. Thanks for the link to the article; hopefully this topic will get as much notice as some of the lesser important topics that get large amounts of attention.

Only 70 views on this topic??? I'd hoped more people than that read the article. Here is a true representation of someone whose life we should celebrate, and who truly contributed to amateur radio and science. READ THE ARTICLE PEOPLE AND REMEMBER...
I just had to boost this one back up to the top. Only 70 views while the political topics get 1000's. eeesh

YCO,

Don't go nuts about the number of views. A lot of us already had gotten the news via ARRL.

73,
Bill

YCO:

As mentioned before, I got the news from ARRL. Why do I need to view it here again?

Beam me up, Scotty, and get your bagpipes ready for "Taps."

Though I never met Mr. Kraus I did have the honor of finding his office on the Ohio State Campus and always regretted not meeting him and shaking his hand. #Another icon in our hobby is gone. RIP W8JK.

A sad day for ham radio, but we must also celebrate JK's life and the things he's left behind for us to use and enjoy.

My condolences to his family.
