That's been posted here before, albeit not terribly recently. It looks pretty real to me. No reason to believe it's not. 500KV is a force most folks can't fathom. That's a big bit of EMF.

I wonder what kind of noise level THAT made locally on the HF bands. I have that clip on my computer. They say that that structure wasn't meant to open while under load and the arc did some heavy damage to it.

As you watch the video notice these switches are opened
remotely. At some power houses these switches are
opened manually, lower power output, thus if this were
to happen one just keeps cranking on the handle until
the switch is fully open.
Like a big "Jacob's Ladder" without the ladder !
