Looks like the Air Force has started testing the effects on Pt. 15 devices.

I don't have a link to it, but about 4 years ago, when one of the Puget Sound-area aircraft carriers returned from deployment, quite a few cars with the "keyless entry" feature wouldn't unlock on command. These operate right around 315 MHz.
I brought a very nice "DC-to-daylight" radio to work, to see what was going on. Sure enough, there was a broad, strong source of RF centered at 315 MHz, extending out about 4 MHz either side. 'Bout that time, the local newspaper got wind of the problem and featured the story on the front page for several days. I think I know what the source of the RF was, but suffice it to say that this system now is secured while the ships are in inland waters.

The 225.00 to 399.95 MHz is allocated to the military--period. No one else is authorized to use it.
Now when the military used one of these frequencies, for military purposes, it caused garage-door openers to malfunction. People complained and, according to K7KBN, "this system [the navy's system] now is secured while the ships are in inland waters."
Now, if the navy can't operate on military frequencies because it interfers with garage-door openers, what will happen when a ham blocks BPL?
Part 15 is out of control.

GUT- I don't think Part 15 is out of control, I think it is the
lack of thought on the part of the garage door opener manufacturers. The Military is were they are supposed to be.
Part 15 says that those homeowners may have to revert to
"Armstrong" door openers! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
The garage door opener industry has got some serious fixing
to do, and soon! Think of the possibilities of class action suits! Where can I get a quick-o Law degree? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
Just think of what will happen to BPL in seaport towns when
some of those Navy Ships cut loose on their HF frequencies
at high power! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
Be of good cheer! Ain't no fat lady sung, yet!

The sad part is that some genius actually designed that device to operate at that intended frequency without knowing better.......
and it actually saw widespread production and use before the problem became apparent............
a little research and common sense can prevent so many problems......... http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
