First of all I never made contact with this guy to tell him my price on anything let alone tell him "WHAT IM WILLING TO SELL" my accesories for. In my ad I never mention ACCESORIES at all.

Everyone that emails me I log down who and what they asked if it pertaining to a sale and write down details of the email. This guy was never one of them. I print the email if it is a long one.

check his spelling ,,,just a tad off,,,, but so is mine sometimes http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

My reply to this person was that if he is truly interested when his </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">well-orgarinsed shipper[/QUOTE]<span id='postcolor'> arrives, they can pay me in CASH ONLY

I don't usually add to my &quot;bad&quot; list based on a single report. If someone has been scammed by this guy let me know and I will add him to my list.

I try to be careful and not put people on my bad list lightly. Hope you understand.

That message, in many variations, is the opening gambit by scammers who have no interest in the radio/car/sofa/puppy that you offered for sale. #They are only interested in having you deposit their very large cashiers check in your bank account, then mail them the difference quickly. #

There will be a bait, something like 25% of the sizeable difference. #This &quot;reward&quot; for helping them will require haste, though, to avoid some obscure currency flow red tape or penalty.

You feel the hook later, when your bank advises that you deposited a bogus cashiers check. #

The pain comes from repaying your bank, with no chance of ever recovering the money you hastily sent to the scammer.

These scammers change names and email addresses more often than underwear, so no list could keep up with them.

I would hope you wouldn't post anything in your list that did not come from a HAM who prominently and proudly displayed his call sign.

Anything posted without a call sign proudly displayed on the page, whether a complaint, comment or for sale, I automatically ignore as being invalid, bogus or fraudulent.

KW7DSP I'll agree with you that people ought to take pride in posting their call sign, however there are a few who choose not to, probably a good Post sometime as a vote.

I was reading at another unnamed ham BBS that is all call sign apparently it has very technical to engineering level and they take very much pride in doing so the greenhorns out there have their old habits like the kid who sticks the chewing gum under the seat. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

also not to forget the last day minions who think a spaceship will beam them up scotty and whiz them away to do brain experiments if they post their Call Sign on their plates or the Teacher of the gazoo forbids identity of some sort and hide in the hills because of some strange teaching.

then finally the Urban Ledgends, you can spend hours reading every kind of story out there back in our old times we used to call it Fairy Tales, Fantasy Stories, Science Fiction, Tall Tales, and I guess there is a Liars Club also and then what my one Matience Guy says I cannot repeat here.

Cows May Come and Cows May go but the Baloney goes on here forever ( I edited it purposely ).

What you say is true and even when read between the lines, but I still stand by &quot;Anything posted without a call sign proudly displayed on the page, whether a complaint, comment or for sale, I automatically ignore as being invalid, bogus or fraudulent.&quot;

Being an amateur scam baiter as well as a ham I can tell you that this is just another version of the dreaded &quot;Nigerian Scam&quot;. You can usually tell by the name, the way they write or the use of poor translator software. Another version of this is to offer a cashiers or bank check for an amount over the agreed upon price to be paid in cash to the &quot;pickup&quot; guy. Once the check is identified by the bank as a fake(usually weeks or months later)the victim is left owing the bank the entire amount as well as being out the equipment.

Be careful....
