whats up everybody. i was riding around earlier and was listening to 10 meters 28.432 about 430PM and called out a CQ and got a contact in New Mexico. I was in dallas tx running 25 watts out of my htx100 with an old 11 meter antenna cut down for 10 meters. guess old cb antennas are good for something after all. Its been a while since i have held any qso on 10 meters for any period of time, and even longer doing it mobile

http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif ...with posts like yours, maybe MORE folks will start listening / talking on 10 meters

IF everyone is just LISTENING, how will any one know that good radio communications exist ? Give your call evey few minutes / miles...you just might get a answer !!

GOOD LUCK

Cool! Even with 10M propagation down due to the sunspot cycle there are still opportunities for sporadic E contacts. Nothing like calling CQ on what you think is a dead band and having someone answer! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Yeah, when 10 is open it's often open real good. A while back I had a nice ragchew with a couple of ZL stations while I was parked on Treasure Island (in San Francisco Bay) in my little Honda witha mag mount antenna (you should see what opening the door did to the SWR&#33http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
