I have to wonder what "class license" has to do with integrity?
I suppose one could answer "spoken" like a true "Technician" then?
Get off the class issue. It is an old topic that really gets older each time individuals start whining about it.
The guy frauded an individual, pure and simple and license class has nothing to do with it!

1.Class License has alot to do with it! He should be setting the example.
2.Spoken like a true technician?? You got that right I look up to the Higher class for advice, many do set the example, but the guys the FCC has fined as of late are by vast majority higher than a Technician.

To use your own jargon, sounds like a whining Tech to me.
Class of license has nothing to do with individual integrity. Re-read, if you have not done so, the Amateur's Code of Conduct. It has nothing to do with license class whatsoever. It is applicable to ALL AMATEUR CLASSES.
Everyone in this hobby should be setting the example for others, and this constant bashing of higher class licensed ops does nothing positive for the hobby, just as posting examples of poor Technician class operators causing repeater enforcement actions from the FCC, out of band (In the CB band) operation, etc. You will find bad ops across all the ranks so be careful what you say. The stats are against you.
As stated. License class has nothing to do with your issue. Perhaps a personal issue, but albeit, nothing to do with the scam/fraud issue.
Scammers and frauds are amongst the amateur population. If you chose to look up AI4BT you will see he hasn't been an extra that long either, but that means nothing to start with.
Lumping the entire "extra class" population into your statistic is bogus.
You got scammed by a licensed amateur. There are many out there. Get a grip on reality. Amateur radio isn't full of honest, decent and character perfect individuals. It is just that. A hobby with individuals in it and you will encounter all kinds. Personally, I look to EACH op to conduct himself/herself appropriately, but unfortunately, that isn't always the case.
I think you are expressing other issues in your posts. That's unfortunate.

Yawn.....
Inane. Back to sleep.
Ham to ham references. Although I think it good to post warnings, etc., about individuals that lack integrity and moral character in their business dealings, to me, it would be far more beneficial to have a spreadsheet on Ham to Ham References that contain the callsign of the fraud/scam artist, name and address, e-mail and phone number. Individual postings are appropriate but it seems to me that after a while, they migrate off the main page and into the back pages, where few will see the callsign and perhaps, may fall victim themselves to the same scammer.
Rather then entering individual postings, I think that pulling up a spreadsheet (as some maintain already), on QRZ.COM would be great.
Just a thought.

Then you should look here http://www.hamstershack.com
A spread sheet of sorts ... it would be nice to have someone go thru the data and compile some statistics for inclusion on the website.

Hold on...
I have had dealings with Ronnie before and he is a straight shooter... at least to me he was...
He had a problem once before on here and I stuck up for him and it turned out ok... He was a little slow because of some computer problems and I think a death in his family but he made the deal good...
Most of you folks on here know me and I don't stick up for someone unless I'm pretty sure He's a good guy...
I'll see if I can get in touch with Ronnie and see what I can find out... NO promises but I will try...
I think you will find out this works out ok...
added later:
I just talked to Ronnie's wife...
Ronnie has been in an accident and apparently has been in the Hospital for some time... Head on with a drunk... injury is pretty bad... something about neck and back...
The wife is not internet capable... doesn't do computers...
She has just recently been made aware of this situation and is trying to figure it out... She's not a Ham type either so all these boxes look the same to her... She is trying to find the stuff and get it shipped...
From my past experience with Ronnie, I believe this to be true...
Have patience my good man all will work out...

This is why I don't add people to my bad guys list lightly, there can be many reasons that a deal does not go thru. Tnx PU for the update.

Another reason to knock off the categorization of individuals and stick to the facts.
Hope the issue is resolved and there is a happy ending.
Sounds like someone sat on the rubber duck!

One of my early lessons in Ham radio came when I was about 16. I had used borrowed radios as a novice and when I got my general I saved my money and bought a used rig off a local ham. It was a National NCX-500. I was wowed by 500W PEP in a rig I could buy for $200. Sounds cheap but it was a lot of money to me.
Well, I got the rig home and it never worked. He wouldn't give my money back saying that it worked when he sold it to me. As a naive teenager, I let him get away with it. Noone could ever fix the rig. I didn't own another rig of my own for 20 years.
Lesson: A ham license, any class, is no guarantee of anything other than the said individual passed the exam. Buyers Beware! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

As you so adequately stated:
Lesson: A ham license, any class, is no guarantee of anything other than the said individual passed the exam. Buyers Beware!
This classification of individuals based upon license class if bogus. I agree, any ham you purchased equipment from is just that, a licensed individual. It says nothing about their character.
Unfortunately, character is something that more and more seems to be slipping away!
Contrary to OBN's rants and ravings about Extra Class ops continually, an individual runs into any crooked individual at any license class. It is unfortunate, but it is reality. Class of license, how licensed, code vs no code licensed, blah, blah, blah, etc., mean nothing. If individuals lack character, they lack character which leads to a lack of trustworthiness and honesty. Period.
Don't suppose for a minute if you purchase for anyone over the internet, sight unseen, item untested, that you are "safe". The old addage, "it worked before I shipped it", yeah right. Like 20 years prior to that event perhaps.
Talk on the phone, ask for more details about the item, even pictures if they are available.
