I'm curious as to why the ARRL was not available for comment according to this article.

24 million homes: If they use the same spectrum as initally proposed, I can see big time headaches. Maybe not in certain areas, but where channels 2, 3 and 4 off air tv is concerned. This is only one part of the non ham spectrum that could be impacted. I can see in mainly industrial areas that are rich in QRM you may not notice the interference, but get in the quiter residential areas, and the problems may rear their ugly heads.

It seems that sometimes the $ gets in the way of common sence.

I just sent them an email notifying them of the potential interference issues that I am sure that they know about. I wanted to know how they were going to deal with it. I encourage everyone to send them an email as well, we need to make a statement, this doesent mean mail bomb them (flood there email), but you get the idea.

Anyone outside of the Amateur Radio community doesn't even know the ARRL exists -- let alone are worried about our rights.

Here's a question. What does Amateur Radio, FEMA, Home Land Security, and other users of various HF bands that could be impacted by BPL QRM have in common.

All of them "don't need no HF", can't they use cell phones like the rest of the world? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

Do not forget to write your anti-BPL letters,
encourage new amateur radio participation and generally be nice
to one another. That is all.
