Hi, can someone help me ? I am interested in the Hy-Gain AV-620, and I would like to know the experiences and opinions of other hams that used it.

I had a av-620 and after about 3 months of use I gave it away. It could not outperform a cheap Antron a-99 cb antenna on the ham bands for me. I am not sure of what the problem was, but It just did nothing for me.
Hi, I have just purchased and put up a Hy-Gain AV-640, the larger version of the same antenna and I couldn't be more pleased. It went together well and performs great. If I can hear 'em I can work 'em. Have made several DX contacts in the short time I have had it on the air, just this morning was EA8YB in the Canary Islands and V51GB in Namibia so no complaints here.

Great Antenna!!!!! You have to spend a little time to put the antenna up but then it works really good. My AV-620 is @ 12m above ground and SWR is excellent on all bands. Sometimes I get better reports than a friend with a 3el. beam living about 500m away from me - thatīs awesome!!! In the last 3 months I have worked more than 100 countries all over the world with only 100 watts.
