Hi all,

Along with my post about 100D vs. 706, I need advice on mobile antennas. I have been recommended to look at the High Sierra Sidekick antenna.

I need a SMALL mobile antenna that will remove easily (I live in a 'not-so-good' neighborhood). While I like working DX, #I will not expect to be breaking through the pileups. I am interested also in a 2m/70cm antenna too.

Again, thanks for any response.

I have a High Sierra 1800 Pro. Love it. Very easy to remove. (good/bad?) All you need is a flat blade screwdriver. one clamp. To make things easier, I need to add a quick disconnect for the whip and all will fit in the back easy. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I considered the high sierra and have heard alot of good things about the sidekick, but you also might want to look at the LiL Tarheel, I have had mine for about 2 months now and would not have anything but this one. It work flawlessly. The service from Tarheel is the best I've ever come across. Call them you won't be disappointed.

Hi,
You probably have your antenna by now. I'm checking them all out and have it down to the Sidekick and the HI-Q 5/80. The HI-Q is more expensive but seems to have better specs.

Is your HS 1800 pro elevated? I can't spread any radials because it will be elevated ... Should itwork ok?
